Huasheng Hotel (Haikou Yilong West Road Qilou Old Street Branch)

My flight was delayed, so I arrived quite late at night. The charming front desk staff warmly welcomed me and even upgraded my room, which was very comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by great food options, and transportation is also very convenient. The breakfast is affordable and offers a good variety, including steamed buns, corn, sweet potatoes, congee, and fruit – excellent value for money!

The entire hotel, from the lobby to the hallways, felt dark and dim. And because it's pet-friendly, there was a persistent strange odor. However, the front desk was great; as soon as we mentioned it, they immediately sent someone to spray air freshener. For vegetarians, the breakfast options were extremely limited. Other hotels at least offer fried eggs and Chinese crullers (youtiao), but here I was stuck with plain congee and soy sauce. The front desk staff were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate any requests. The hotel can receive packages for guests, but generally, delivery services drop them off at a nearby parcel station. It's not too far, so it's acceptable. Downstairs, there's a Lawson and a regular convenience store, plus plenty of food, drinks, and snack shops in the vicinity. The hotel's location is quite convenient, but since it's in an older district, the streets downstairs were a bit dirty. Also, there were always people on motorcycles waiting for fares downstairs, and they were quite loud. The hotel offers free self-service laundry and dryers, which is a fantastic amenity!

Compared to another place I stayed before, this one really offers excellent value for money! The room was bright, it had a smart voice assistant, the air conditioning was powerful, and the soundproofing was pretty good too. I had a great night's sleep.
