Yuhuayuan Design Hotel (Haizhou Meilan Airport Hongzhou Jiangshan)

This was a short ride from airport. The “free” ride from airport to hotel was a joke. It took forever to figure out how to contact the driver (you definitely need a Chinese SIM card or ability to make calls) . Also nobody (driver, front desk etc) speak English. The drive to hotel isn’t far. We were behind one family in line so it took about 20 mins wait to check in. We arrived at 2am but had to catch a 7.30am flight so had little rest. Still glad we checked in. Shower and bed good. Unfortunately, the 5am shuttle was “fully booked”by the time we check in so we had to pay for our own ride back to the airport, even though the ride was supposed to be included for free. The next shuttle was one hour later (only one shuttle per hour!!) so too late for us. No big deal as it cost only a few usd but it was a hassle getting a didi and our driver’s car was stuck because the gantry wouldn’t open to let us leave the parking lot. The corridor were not temperature controlled so we were sweating like mad pushing our luggage’s through the long hallways to get to our room. If you aren’t in a hurry like us this is ok…

Front line staff were pleasant and provided info when asked. The hotel is a bit run down but still kept clean. Great location near the airport but not much amenities though within and around For the price per night, no complaints and also provide a free shuttle to the airport though a bit small. Need to carry your own luggage up and down the mini bus from the hotel and upon reaching the airport., the only setback. Overall, a night stay for an early flight is great 👍

The hotel is very very old, with a noticeable smell of dust everywhere. I didn’t expect it to be this outdated. The breakfast had a very limited selection, with almost nothing to eat. Even the watermelon was of poor quality. However, the free shuttle bus service to the airport and railway station was a convenient perk for our trip. A four-star rating feels overrated—I'd give it 2.5 stars, maybe 3 at best.

The hotel is 10 mins by car from the airport which is VERY convenient for early flights. The front desk is open 24h/24 and although they do not speak English, with the passport or the ID used for booking the room, you should be able to have access to your room very quickly. There is also a convenience store just right next to it.

This boutique hotel is a block inside a residential area. You will only see the hotel after you have pass the security camera at the main entrance into the compound. The design elements of these hotel are unique and a lot of instagramable spot. Cleanliness in the room are acceptable, generous room size and comfortable bed make it a pleasant stay. The carpet at the corridor however are in pretty poor condition and very much required cleaning. Our bookings come with free breakfast and transfer to the airport, which is great value for money. Surprisingly the quality of the oriental breakfast are good, enough variety to suits most people. The transfer to the airport were done in a mini bus without any dedicated space for luggage storage, hence passengers has to place them on the walkway to the seats. Luckily everybody were understanding and do not mind squeezing through to get to a available seats. The ride is no more than 15 minutes from the hotel. The professional driver will remind everyone to check their ticket for the correct Terminal to get to their flight. Overall, this is a good options if you needed a night stay near the airport or train station for your early morning schedule flights or trains.

We chose this hotel because it is close to the airport and the hotel provides a free shuttle bus and we didn’t have to wait at all. It is only a few minutes drive. Our room had three single beds. One was a bulk bed which was convenient for the baby couldn’t fall down. The breakfast has only Chinese food which was good but I brought my own coffee. There is a children’s indoor playground which our son loved! There are many books to read in the library. All in all good value.
