Amazing location. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was nice. Decent selection of Chinese and Western breakfast choices. The Western restaurant is a bit expensive, but there are some great restaurants near the hotel. There is one amazing noodle shop about 1 block to the west. It is near an alleyway. Blue interior open on two sides. Cheap but amazing noodles. Also, there is another restaurant to the west with a wooden facade that has wonderful beer fish.

Right across from Elephant Park Scenic Area. The manager Alice speaks English and was very helpful. I got upgraded to a room with a view, which was very nice. I also bought the “extras package” which included a fruit plate, drinks, and a 1 1/2 hour visit to the park with a photographer. He doesn’t get paid by the hotel, but you can choose 5 photos free and then pay 20 rmb for the other ones you like. He knows all the angles and places, although I wish I had more time in the park just on my own. Breakfast is good, with DIY noodles and everything you would expect. The room was clean and spacious. I came in too late for the pick up service, but was given 50 rmb of my 100 rmb fare reimbursed. There is a nice rooftop bar on top! I would recommend for sure. Especially if you are just there for the night.

Amazing hotel, I guess it has been renovated recently . The room is magnetic, and the staff can speak English quite well . Swimming pool, jacuzzis (3 of them), sauna and steam room, excellent gym with table tennis 🏓 equipments makes this property and excellent place to stay. Breakfast was excellent as I am a huge fan of Chinese food, not much of western food, but there are kids station, bread, coffee (good one) , sausage and bacon, and several other options of pastries such as croissants and danish. Thanks XiaoWu小伍 for the amazing service guiding us around the rooftop, taking pictures of us, and giving assistance providing all the important information on how to enjoy the hotel facilities . the only bad thing is the costumers , a huge amount of them smoke everywhere although there are signs saying the whole property is forbidden to smoke. The hotel should remove the ashtrays in front of the elevators . Unfortunately it is a problem in China when you go to hotels and makes very unpleasant the shared ventilation bringing smoking smell into other people’s room.

Bo Yin Hotel (Li River Secluded Hotel) Our visit to Guilin was to spend time with my wife’s large family and we twice stayed at the Li River Secluded hotel, for a total of 7 nights. Our expectations of a hotel experience are high, so we avoid using American chain hotels when possible. The Li River Secluded hotel more than met those expectations by combining exceptional customer service with a laid back, but luxurious guest experience. On arrival, we were offered a room upgrade. The upgrade accommodation was located on the ground floor, so this did not appeal to us until we were shown the room … the suite was spacious and tastefully furnished with a Zen motif that included a ceremonial tea table. Both my wife and I practice daily yoga, so the ample floor space immediately appealed to us. A room-width picture window featured a view of the Li River Lake and its pair of pagodas. Remote-controlled drapes and shears sound-proofed and eliminated light from the room when closed. A buffet daily breakfast on the 8th (top) floor was included and featured a good selection of both Chinese and Western options. We had family commitments that prevented us from eating dinner at the restaurant, but my wife hosted an afternoon tea session in the restaurant for some of her friends and the tea and pastries were excellent. In addition, fresh fruit was placed in the room every day, and the room refrigerator was refreshed daily with water, sodas, and snacks. The hotel was generally maintained in pristine condition and effected the highest standards of cleanliness. This applied to all the facilities apart from a small exercise room on the 5th floor. This consisted of a set of barbells (no bench), a fixed weight station (functional), and 2 treadmills, neither of which functioned properly … that said, I did use the weight station and the patio outside of the exercise room for yoga on a couple warmer days. There was also a guest laundry on the 5th floor which my wife used on one occasion. The customer service attitude in Chinese hotels is generally an improvement on what we are accustomed to in North America, but at the Bo Yin Hotel it’s exceptional. This means that English language speakers (I’m Canadian and my wife is Chinese by birth) would experience no problem in addressing any of the front desk, maid, or restaurant personnel. For those who prefer to order take-out food, a robotic delivery service is used, a feature that tends to fascinate any child you might be traveling with. Sean Bennett

We had a good family stay at Grand Link hotel. We are foreigners in China and have 3 kids under the age of 12. All staff were helpful and accommodating to us. We especially enjoyed the large pool (they put out the lawn chairs and tables/umbrellas on our second day to visit the pool. not sure why they weren't out there on the first day). The garden in the center of the hotel was lovely and the kids really enjoyed feeding the fish. The location was such that we had to grab a didi everywhere we wanted to go, since we had kids who couldn't walk very far distances. It was super simple to get a didi though, and usually about a 10 minute ride wherever we wanted to go. The breakfast buffet was wonderful!

A lovely stay, despite a hiccup. Super comfortable bed and really clean room. Lots of interesting little artefacts and communal areas in the hotel and the staff are super friendly and helpful. We stayed for a one night stopover in Guilin before heading to the Longshen fields and it was perfect for this. It's right next to Elephant trunk hill so we were able to tick that off easily despite a very short stay. We had one night in Longshen coming up next and needed a way to get there the next day. We thought instead of taking the public bus we would check with the hotel to see if they did any direct shuttles. They said they'd be able to fit us in with their tour van the next day and although it was a scheduled tour, they could arrange to drop us off at a point near our next hotel if we paid for the seats and entry fee for the Longshen fields. It turned out there was a bit of a miscommunication and we ended up stuck on the tour for quite some time (including a lunch stop we didn't really want) before they reached our drop off point. The tour driver was also supposed to drop us off in an area past a payment checkpoint in Longshen but we were dropped off outside of it and had to pay the entrance fee again. The hotel attempted to help by sending us receipts of the payment made and asked us to go to the ticket office to seek a refund for the double up. The ticket office was a bit far from where we were staying and we simply did not have time to do that given our tight schedule. It was a bit annoying as it wasn't our fault that the tour driver dropped us off at the wrong place and we weren't re-imbursed for his mistake. We understand though that this all came down to a bit of a miscommunication and a language barrier (most the staff only spoke Mandarin but I can only speak Cantonese so could only communicate to one of the staff members). Everyone was trying their best to accommodate our request, so we are understanding of that. The mistake happened because we were trying to be too clever but ended up getting something we didn't want. My advice for anyone doing the same thing heading to Longshen from the area is to just use the public bus services as it will be much easier (and cheaper).

One of the best hotel where we stayed during our trip around China. Very clean and nice, staff is super friendly and helpful! They helped us a lot with organizing our trip to the rice terraces. They also provide guests with tea on the first floor and woman at the reception kindly shared the tea’s recipe with me when I asked her. Breakfast is great too and laundry is very modern and free. When I was booking a hotel, I made the decision immediately after seeing the environment on the cover. After we arrived in the middle of the night, a young man was waiting for us at the door to receive us enthusiastically. He helped us check in and guided us to the room. It felt very comfortable to check in. The night view is beautiful. When we woke up in the morning and sent us out, we felt the comfortable, clean and fresh environment of the hotel in the park. Breathing the fresh air made me feel better. Facilities: Although it is not a new and modern hotel with a sense of technology, it embodies the leisure and comfort of vacation everywhere. The rooms and stores are clean and fragrant, and it is very suitable for couples and families.

This hotel was honestly a great stay if you wish to stay close to a few attractions. I had a two days stay but just a day to roam around and was able to do the Sun and Moon Towers, The Glass Bridge as well as Elephant Trunk hill all in one day. I also did Reed Flute Cave but that was a taxi ride away. The breakfast served was really yummy and they had a wide variety of options. They had toast and eggs, fresh fruit, rice, noodles and lots of other dishes. The hotel itself was very clean and I enjoyed the staff as they always greeted us when we walked into the main lobby area. If you happen to order in as I did on my last day, a robot will bring your food to you. Overall it was a great stay with modern facilities and thirty second walk to the lake. The rooms however although advertised as ‘lake view’ were only views of trees with maybe a tiny glimpse of the lake. Overall it was a great stay and I’d totally choose this place again.

Stayed at this hotel for four nights before and after. I feel very satisfied. The hotel is next to the Xiangshan Scenic Area, a five-minute walk away. Walk for more than ten minutes to the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Wharf for Night Tour, and walk for more than half an hour through the pedestrian street to Dongxi Alley. The hotel rooms are well decorated, with complete facilities, clean and tidy, free parking, and you can get closer to 4 drills! Especially the boss service is very good! On the day we returned from Yangshuo, because a triple room could not be vacated, the boss asked me to refund the original triple room and one single room on Ctrip, and then directly gave us a double room and two at the original total price. The single room gives us a place to rest immediately when we are tired. I really want to praise it!

Room: 1017 (king bed & bunk bed); duration of stay: 4 nights. Family of 4 (including 6 & 11y.o. boys) Absolutely wonderful surprise to walk into this room and see how spacious it was along with many fun features which included kids’ bunk bed and slide down one side, playhouse tent, play area with small kids table and chairs and small rocking horse. A large kids play area (open 10am – 10pm) on the same floor (level 10) along with a very basic gym i.e. 1 treadmill, a couple of indoor bikes. Most guests on level 10 kept our doors open and kids could freely roam between their hotel room and play area. There is no safe in the room although the hotel was safe and secure (cameras on each floor). Our valuables were locked in our suitcase when not in the room. A nice touch of earplugs by our bedside (although we didn’t need them) and heated/electric toilet. Both kids and adults enjoyed the room and hotel. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Limited English and we communicated via translate app and my 11y.o. son who speaks intermediate Chinese. Use of sunscreen and other items available for free from reception counter. The hotel is very clean. Free laundry (front loading machines and a hanging rack heated dryer) including laundry powder (located on level 8). The pool was nice however given we visited late October, a bit on the cool side with the changing season. The breakfast spread was very good with a mixture of fruit, bread, dim sum, eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled), bacon, Chinese breakfast, tea, coffee, etc. 3 items, including noodles, on the breakfast menu to obtain freshly cooked. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner twice and both meals were fantastic (we recommend the T-bone steak!). Ordering is via scanning a QR code. Limited alcoholic spirits on the dinner menu. We booked a boat tour via the hotel tour desk using the translator app. The service was good and easy. We opted to get a taxi to the boat (rather than the group van which left an hour earlier and cost RMB10pp) however upon arriving to the boat ticket office outside the boats they tried to redirect us to a different location. We communicated with the hotel tour desk via WeChat which was quick and very helpful as they sent photos of the desk we needed to be at (which was a table next door to the ticket office). The process was smooth and easy. The use of the spa is 50% off for hotel guests and from memory it opens at 3pm. Suggest to book ahead as the spa does book out quickly. The location is good; a walk away from Guilin Pagoda Hill, Elephant hill (10 min walk), Starbucks on the opposite side of the road less than 10 minute walk away, 2 KFC’s, food, taxi stand to the left of the hotel, night market, shopping, etc. Great features of this hotel: • Fun hotel and fantastic for kids • Very clean and safe • Good location • Good breakfast spread, lunch/dinner options • Taxi stand less than 1 minute walk For awareness: • SYYF has 2 locations. Taxi’s kept dropping us back at the other location. Therefore take the address in Chinese and make sure the taxi drivers read the address (not just look at the logo)

The hotel is easy to find. It is just a short walk after getting off the train. It is very close to Xiangshan Park and the Day and Night Twin Towers Scenic Area. However, it is difficult to book a room. A family of three wanted to book a family room but could not. The front desk clerk immediately learned about the situation and immediately They arranged for us to add a super large bed. The service attitude was great. The room was really nice and the facilities were new. We slept very comfortably. The room we booked did not include breakfast. The staff also gave us three breakfasts. We got up and ran in the gym in the morning. After finishing the walk, we had breakfast directly. The breakfast was very good and included my favorite fat-reducing meal. Then we went to the free laundry and directly picked up the dried clothes. It was perfect.

The alley in front of the B&B is relatively narrow, so it’s called Sanchi Alley! I made a reservation online on Qunar a few days before departure. I was worried about the weather and saw that I could cancel within the agreed time. This was very user-friendly. It's cost-effective during the peak summer season, and the service attitude is good. The room is quite big, clean, and there is an elevator. The most important thing is that there is a small parking lot at the back door for free parking (of course the location is limited, which is already very good. The driving navigation is to locate Ruyi Pavilion. I started locating the B&B but was delayed for a few hours. It would have been better if the sister at the front desk had told me this in advance.) The surrounding area is convenient for eating and playing. The Sun and Moon Twin Towers and Xiangshan Park are only about ten minutes' walk away! The sister at the front desk recommended Weiyuan Rice Noodle Shop, which is often visited by locals nearby. It was the same as the one recommended by the friendly owner who sells cigarettes at the intersection. I gave them both good reviews for this. The taste is good, the price is the same for locals and foreigners, and everyone is welcome! I went to Xiangshan Park that day and came back. I wanted to take a shortcut and stumbled into a small alley. I came across two hot pot restaurants. They were both local people eating. They had small tables and chairs. I decided to sit in. The price was cheap and the taste was good!

During the National Day, except for not very good parking, everything else was fine. The boss is very enthusiastic, communicate with WeChat in advance to send the parking lot location, Elephant Trunk Hill free ticket APP. You can also cook a simple meal. It takes a few minutes to walk next to it. There is a small vegetable market. Our family of 4 bought a chicken to make a clear water chicken. There is soup and meat to eat. It is too satisfying. The place to stay is very convenient for transportation. It is less than 50 meters away from the Sun and Moon Twin Towers. It is super convenient to walk to the two rivers and four lakes and Xiangshan Scenic Area by boat at Zhiyin Wharf. The homestay has two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen and one bathroom. The room is large and clean. The toilet is a bit small. The whole house has air conditioning. The appliances are relatively complete. The first choice for a family to travel. The Jinlongzhai Hotel is downstairs. After eating, you can go upstairs to rest. It's cool. And very affordable and cost-effective. It is inconvenient to park, you have to go a little farther, but the landlord is warm and the service is thoughtful, and it must be five-star praise.
