I felt very good staying at the Guilin Hotel. I will continue it for two days. The key is that the room is clean and hygienic, the bedding is neat and comfortable, the quilts and pillows are dry and breathable. A particularly surprising experience. It was raining lightly on the day of check-in, and the handsome staff member Xiao Xie came out to pick us up in advance despite the rain. He helped carry my luggage along the way. When I checked in, he saw that I was traveling with an elderly person and he thoughtfully helped me upgrade my room for free. The hotel is located in the scenic area and the scenery is great. Although it is slightly inconvenient to get in and out, the experience is very special. The historical stories explained by the lady at the front desk were also very interesting, and the staff were all great👍👍👍

Right across from Elephant Park Scenic Area. The manager Alice speaks English and was very helpful. I got upgraded to a room with a view, which was very nice. I also bought the “extras package” which included a fruit plate, drinks, and a 1 1/2 hour visit to the park with a photographer. He doesn’t get paid by the hotel, but you can choose 5 photos free and then pay 20 rmb for the other ones you like. He knows all the angles and places, although I wish I had more time in the park just on my own. Breakfast is good, with DIY noodles and everything you would expect. The room was clean and spacious. I came in too late for the pick up service, but was given 50 rmb of my 100 rmb fare reimbursed. There is a nice rooftop bar on top! I would recommend for sure. Especially if you are just there for the night.

Amazing location. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was nice. Decent selection of Chinese and Western breakfast choices. The Western restaurant is a bit expensive, but there are some great restaurants near the hotel. There is one amazing noodle shop about 1 block to the west. It is near an alleyway. Blue interior open on two sides. Cheap but amazing noodles. Also, there is another restaurant to the west with a wooden facade that has wonderful beer fish.

Bo Yin Hotel (Li River Secluded Hotel) Our visit to Guilin was to spend time with my wife’s large family and we twice stayed at the Li River Secluded hotel, for a total of 7 nights. Our expectations of a hotel experience are high, so we avoid using American chain hotels when possible. The Li River Secluded hotel more than met those expectations by combining exceptional customer service with a laid back, but luxurious guest experience. On arrival, we were offered a room upgrade. The upgrade accommodation was located on the ground floor, so this did not appeal to us until we were shown the room … the suite was spacious and tastefully furnished with a Zen motif that included a ceremonial tea table. Both my wife and I practice daily yoga, so the ample floor space immediately appealed to us. A room-width picture window featured a view of the Li River Lake and its pair of pagodas. Remote-controlled drapes and shears sound-proofed and eliminated light from the room when closed. A buffet daily breakfast on the 8th (top) floor was included and featured a good selection of both Chinese and Western options. We had family commitments that prevented us from eating dinner at the restaurant, but my wife hosted an afternoon tea session in the restaurant for some of her friends and the tea and pastries were excellent. In addition, fresh fruit was placed in the room every day, and the room refrigerator was refreshed daily with water, sodas, and snacks. The hotel was generally maintained in pristine condition and effected the highest standards of cleanliness. This applied to all the facilities apart from a small exercise room on the 5th floor. This consisted of a set of barbells (no bench), a fixed weight station (functional), and 2 treadmills, neither of which functioned properly … that said, I did use the weight station and the patio outside of the exercise room for yoga on a couple warmer days. There was also a guest laundry on the 5th floor which my wife used on one occasion. The customer service attitude in Chinese hotels is generally an improvement on what we are accustomed to in North America, but at the Bo Yin Hotel it’s exceptional. This means that English language speakers (I’m Canadian and my wife is Chinese by birth) would experience no problem in addressing any of the front desk, maid, or restaurant personnel. For those who prefer to order take-out food, a robotic delivery service is used, a feature that tends to fascinate any child you might be traveling with. Sean Bennett

Great hotel in a great location. Walkable from the Guilin (south) train station (although you can ride 1 stop on the bus to cut the distance in half) and on the #100 route to Guilinbei (north) train station. Nicely situated for a walk along the river and the elephant hill park, and easy to catch the #3 bus to Reed Flute Cave. It's about 1km walk from the rest of the town, although if you are feeling lazy there are several bus routes into town. The hotel organised my ticket and transfer to the Guling-＞Yangshuo river cruise. There's no lift in the hotel, which could be an issue for some, but the reception staff insisted on carrying my suitcase up the stairs for me. There's a free washing machine and clothes drying area on the roof of one of the two buildings, with detergent provided. One of the receptionists spoke great English which was very useful booking the cruise, but also was happy to let me practice chatting in Mandarin with him.

Old customers are good in all aspects. The only thing that needs to be said is that China Unicom's mobile phone has a bad signal here. It's euphemistic to say that it is not good. I have a local card in Guilin. I have 0 signal in the store, and the mobile card has only 1 G data. If it is not for only one night, it is not enough. Maybe there are other objective reasons for the bad signal, and I understand the store’s possible difficulties. The hotel was excellent! Location was great, there is a highly rated restaurant around the corner and it was really good food. We were able to walk around easily and find many things so the hotel is very convenient. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and they were trying to help us get our room as soon as possible. Instead of making us wait for them to copy all our documents etc they got us all checked in and returned our documents to us later, that was so kind especially when traveling with kids! They placed our family and our friends we were travelling with on the same floor and we all were happy with our rooms. We took a family room for myself, husband and 2 kids. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and they had a really nice bathroom and bath. We would definitely choose to stay again.

The hotel is easy to find. It is just a short walk after getting off the train. It is very close to Xiangshan Park and the Day and Night Twin Towers Scenic Area. However, it is difficult to book a room. A family of three wanted to book a family room but could not. The front desk clerk immediately learned about the situation and immediately They arranged for us to add a super large bed. The service attitude was great. The room was really nice and the facilities were new. We slept very comfortably. The room we booked did not include breakfast. The staff also gave us three breakfasts.
