Hotel Casazul

Hotel Casazul

Flores|1.5km from downtown
I stayed here 1 night and it was a bit of a walk from the main street. I wouldn't usually mind, but because I was tired from a 6 hour tour from Tikal earlier in the day, walking a few blocks with 16lb backpack in tow in 103 degree weather wasn't really what I would've prefered to do. The reason being that vans/tour buses are not allowed past the main street because the streets are not wide enough. Once at the hotel check in was a breeze and Chonita was vey kind and informative. Not much of a view from the lobby or outside, but once I reached my room, the view of Lake Peten Itza was amazing. I was on the third floor, no elevator. Again, usually not a big deal, but I'm 47 and bad knees. Hot and tired from walking and traveling all morning, it was tiresome. The room was very clean. Air conditioning is a must and there's worked great. There's a mini fridge loaded with different types of drinks. Beer, soda. water and even offer small bottles of wine and liquor along with a price list of what each item will cost. TV, wifi worked well. My room was located right besides the outdoor community deck. For most of my stay it was empty and it was nice to sit outside and lounge reading a book and enjoying the views. At night time some other guests were out on the deck and I could hear their conversations, but it wasn't botheresome because I was exhausted from my day, I went to sleep right away. You must take advantage of the sunrise, perfect view to watch it come up around 5:30 am. I was still in my pj's and was not surprised to see more guests awake and enjoying it too. Overall experience was good. They offer free breakfast at an affiliate hotel, I chose to eat at La Casona, which is literally down the block about a 5 minute walk with a great view of the lake. Then before I left I took a swim at another affiliate hotel, Hotel Peten, which is about a 10 minute walk.

Hotel Villa del Lago

I stayed here overnight for a few days in room 301 and it’s view was drop dead gorgeous. Unfortunately I’ve heard that some people mix it up wit Mirador del lago but my mom grew up around Flores and told me mirador del lago was awful. I had a great time! The view was amazing, and the food was the best I’ve ever tasted!!! I couldn’t believe how cheap it was!! The staff was amazingly kind. Love it!!!!
Ramada by Wyndham Tikal Isla de Flores

Very nice hotel. Great location, multiple restaurants and bars to walk to, super convenient as it is right by the bridge to walk to mall and even a Burger King. We utilized Tuk Tuks for transportation to Megaplaza mall (very cheap and only 8 min drive away. The hotel does not provide airport transportation but a taxi was only $10 USD a person. Our king size room was very spacious, comfortable bed with thin down comforter, lockable safe, English TV, 2 water bottles a day in room, dark and quite at night. The bathroom has everything you need, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer. They changed towels and cleaned room every day. We had a shared small balcony and they even got us 2 chairs for balcony. The restaurant/bar was closed due to COVID. They have an indoor and outdoor pool as well as gated parking. Everyone at the hotel speaks English. They were able to set us up with super reasonable Tikal tour and boat tour around the island with pick up in front of hotel. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel. It isn’t fancy, but standards are high and the staff are friendly. The rooms are very clean and tidy, and have decent bathrooms. There is a good level of care, with a few thoughtful extras offered, such as beach towels. The beds are big. We had a lake view room, and the view is particularly relaxing. The only downside is that the roof terrace was looking a bit tired, only had one table and a few upright chairs.

Amazing value. Great place, friendly staff, good food, good location. At this price range I can't find faults at all. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
