De locatie is super midden op het plein van Groningen!
Hotel is wat oud maar wel onderhouden.
Kamers zijn klein en gehorig.

I spent two nights at the Doelen, my first time in Groningen, attracted by the reviews and the location. The choice proved an excellent one, the Doelen is an outstanding hotel with a traditional feel, excellent and friendly helpful service and a very pleasing ambience. I had a comfortable room overlooking the Grote Markt and two fine breakfasts. The location is perfect, right in the old centre of the city with everything close at hand. I cannot be enthusiastic enough about this hotel.

Too stupid to operate the sauna!
extra paid for a sauna in the room. Having read the instructions we could not get it to work. I explained when I was leaving. I was told that I must not have read the instructions and if I had called somebody they would have got it working. That is what normally happens.
To me this says there is an on going problem. I was offered a cake for my disappointment. Not good enough.

Great hotel
Had a really lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and room was beautiful. Great location and very clean room. Would definitely stay again without hesitation.

Hotel be Doelen
Beautiful historic building directly on the main square. Saturday night can be a bit noisy, but that is to be expected with the location. Friendly and very helpful staff.
