This is our 2nd time staying at Grantley Hall and whilst is certainly a luxury hotel we felt slightly disappointed by a few things this time. We were given a room in the eaves in the main house, the room was extremely warm despite the temperature turned down and the windows open. We had complimentary gin but no chocolates or champagne - not a problem at all but when we have had this previously and read other reviews saying this we couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed! Also despite the pre arrival phone call details, the name on the arrival card was wrong. We were woken very early by a loud conversation outside our room, unsure if guests or staff. Having said this the beds in the rooms are huge and very comfy and the bathrooms are lovely and spacious. The spa and gym facilities are amazing and is certainly the best spa have been too. We dined in the Orchard and unfortunately were extremely underwhelmed. We’ve eaten in 2 of the other restaurants at Grantley but the Orchard is not on par with these. The food was bland and disappointing. Breakfast in Fletchers was delicious and even better than we had remembered. It’s only small things that have left us a little disappointed, but as our first stay was outstanding we just felt this return trip did not quite match our previous experience.

Everything was perfect from our arrival to departure. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was beautiful with lots of lovely touches including complimentary gin, champagne and chocolates to celebrate my birthday. The spa and gym facilities were great, and as we arrived early we took advantage of having access from 1pm. We ate in the Shaun Rankin restaurant- a fantastic experience in every way! Breakfast in Fletchers was very tasty too. The whole trip was wonderful and we would love to return.

Breathtakingly beautiful place.... The owner/manager must really be perfectionists because this place is faultless....The rooms are just amazing, the grounds and setting fabulous, the pool/spa area was so relaxing and the food is perfection..... This place is just perfect.... we ate in the main restaurant and the tent/teepee outside during our stay and both were equally amazing...

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. My husband followed the owner's restoration story and as a birthday treat I booked in the August a month after it first opening. Incredible hotel from start to finish. Delightful stay yet again and we will be returning.

We have just had what we can only describe as the best hotel stay ever which has really done the two of us the world of good after a rubbish couple of months health wise. Words cannot describe how amazing you and your staff are. All the little touches just blew us away. You gave us an amazing time and we will be back. Just to say the Gateaux St Honore was the best dessert I have ever had.

Another fantastic visit! We stayed three nights in Grand Suite 5. The room is absolutely stunning and has an outlook onto the main gardens and entrance. It was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping, and the poems left during evening turndown is a very nice touch that I haven’t seen elsewhere. We spent the daytimes exploring the local area but managed to fit in Afternoon Tea on arrival day, and had booked in for dinner in each of the three restaurants - Fletchers, Eighty-Eight and Shaun Rankin during our stay. The food was exceptional throughout and there is an extensive cocktail menu to choose from. The real success of Grantley is without a doubt the staff who work there. The team are all so helpful, courteous and attentive, that it really made GH seem so inviting and homely during our visit. It’s the attention to detail, the personable interactions and the stunning decor and surroundings that makes us want to come back time and again. Thank you again for a fantastic stay, we hope to return soon.

Don’t get me wrong, everything about Grantley was faultless. However what I didn’t realise was that you are penalised if you book via a third party booking site. When we checked in we were told that breakfast is only included if you book directly with the hotel, and you can’t stay in the Spa until 1pm ( like their website says), you have to leave it by 11am, or you will have to pay an additional £50 per person for the extra two hours. I really feel that “the politics” of booking should be kept away from the paying guests, and it should be “ a level playing field” for all. All I can suggest to the “powers that be” at Grantley, is to not advertise on these third party sites, as it does leave a bitter taste in your paying guests mouths, but obviously you won’t. Ironically we paid the same as it would’ve been paying directly with the hotel, I rest my case. I understand that, for example *********** can take approximately 18% commission, but why let it spoil your guests experience by penalising us? Swings and roundabouts spring to mind, isn’t that what good business relations is all about?

I’ve dined at Grantley Hall several times, and every visit is an absolute pleasure. For my birthday this year, they went above and beyond and made my day very special. The service is impeccable, with special recognition to Zak who offered kind and attentive hospitality. As a vegan with celiac disease requiring a gluten-free diet, I'm grateful for their efforts in providing delicious options tailored to my dietary needs. This establishment remains one of my favourite places, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the consistently exceptional service they provide.

This was our first visit to Grantley Hall and we were blown away with how spectacular it was from start to finish. We came for the Easter themed afternoon tea as a birthday treat for myself. The staff from down at the gates to the premises to the front of house staff inside the hall were unbelievably friendly and helpful. Never have I dined anywhere before where the staff are so attentive. The building is lovely with stunning decor which made for a very relaxed atmosphere in the lounge. The afternoon tea menu was fantastic with such creative treats and flavours. Along with the tea menu which was full of new things to try and all unlimited deffinetly added to the experience. The food was excellent and could not fault a single thing. We sat happily for 3 hours enjoying every bit. Including a birthday plate which was a lovely added touch to the day and appreciated. We didn't realise that there was a spa as upon booking I went straight to the food! However given the look of it all we will deffinetly have to try it out in the future when we return. We had a wonderful day. Highly recommend.
