Casa Grande Hotel

Amazing boutique hotel in the heart of La Rioja. The property has been recently refurbished and it’s located in a quiet town. It has open spaces to read and a very nice restaurant. The service is extraordinary! Monica, the owner, made us feel like at home. Totally recommended. Will be back!

The hotel is amazing, a very exquisite building combined good modern style with the essence of an old stone house. The rooms are big and very comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel is also a nice place where you can taste a good quality meals in a quite and peaceful environment. The owners of the hotel, Monica and Raul are also very kind people.

POSSIBLY ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD We arrived after a long drive from Segovia to be met by the owner and berated as the booking - done via Mr and Mrs Smith had not been paid. The lady could speak less English than I could Spanish and implored ME to contact Mr and Mrs Smith to get paid. Seems as though they had recently bought the hotel and previous reservation payments perhaps had been pocketed by the previous owner. Not my fault. Eventually she allowed us int the room. She could only put together sliced tomato, cheeses and air dried meets. Whilst nice was a bit strange. We were then informed that she was off to Logroño for the evening, that there would be no breakfast and we should let ourselves out in the morning. All quite stressful and really weird. The hotel itself was nice and very good room.

Booked here on the Camino, no one was here to receive our bags from Correos, said we had no booking, then tried to charge us 5Eur per bag per day for 'storage', claimed it is common practice in Spain - which it's not. Do not stay here if you are a pilgrim, we got the sense they do not like pilgrims. If I could I would rate it zero!

Really friendly staff, beautiful decor and delicious food! Would recommend as a base to drive around the area of Rioja / visit wineries.

This is a high end boutique hotel that will have you wondering why it’s located in Grañon. Regardless, the hotel is beautifully designed inside and out, and it boasts amazingly comfortable rooms and an exceptional restaurant. Our room was large and featured a king size bed that had a mattress that makes you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. Everything was perfect: plush towels, shower with strong water pressure, strong WiFi, good A/C, etc. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which I’ll review separately. And our room rate included breakfast, which meant you could cooked anything on the menu. It was a fantastic stay, and it made me forget I was even on the Camino.

Booked and pre paid to stay at Casa Grande on the hotels website (not a 3rd party), received an email two weeks prior to the stay advising that the booking was cancelled and I would NOT get a refund, as the booking was made with a previous manager who had left and taken my money, so they refused a refund request, they also refused to let me have the room even though I had said I would book a table in the restaurant as a compromise, beware!

We booked the property back in March to arrive on the 26th of June via ***********. On the 18th of May I received the email from *********** notifying me that the property changed the name but my booking was valid and I didn't need to do anything. On the 18th of June I emailed the property to book the dinner at their restaurant for the night we were supposed to arrive. I was absolutely shocked by the reply I got: "We are sorry to inform you that you do not have any reservations at the hotel. We are the property and we have recovered the hotel a few weeks ago. Any reservation that you have made with the previous manager or with Booking, we do not accept them. Get in touch with the channel that made the reservation and have them solve the problem. If you want to stay at our hotel, you must make the new reservation. If you are interested, we will inform you of the prices". As you can imagine, the price they were now charging has doubled from 340euro for 2 nights to 590euro. So out of pure greed, they decided not to honour the bookings made with the previous owner or via ***********. But what is even worse they never bothered letting me know that the reservation wasn't going to be accepted. I had to contact Booking who continued to assure me that the reservation was valid as the hotel never informed them about this cancellation. So if I hadn't tried to book the dinner, I would have ended up showing up at the property only to be told that I had no reservation! And all of that just 6 days befere the planned arrival! So if you don't want to find yourself in a similar situation, I would recommend avoiding at all costs.

This company are very dodgy booked through *********** in January to stay in one of there hotels in Spain and I since found out the hotel I'm booked to stay in March has closed down. No email or phone call and with 2 weeks before I fly it's left me in a massive hole. Won't answer my calls, emails, what's app or dm please avoid and book with a proper company
