The location of the hotel is great, the hotel has a historic charm. Breakfast ok (typical British) Clear minus point is the bathroom. It smells unpleasantly musty and old, the tiles have mold stains. In addition, there was only one window, which could be opened by a crack, so that you couldn't provide fresh air.

The location is perfect. On the half hillside, the castle is going up. Going down is the place where the commercial street eats. The hotel room is relatively spacious and relatively new. Parking is free. The female front desk on the day of the stay was very friendly and very welcoming. I also said that I saw the Chinese credit card for the first time and felt very good. However, breakfast, originally done very well, half buffet, half-meal, good quality, that is, the price was told at the time of check-in, if you add two people 15 pounds on the spot, I also confirmed it because I felt cheap. As a result, the check-out received 19.8 pounds. The gap is not big, but when the argument is different, the front desk of the next day does not confirm it, and it directly denies it. The perfect experience was deducted from the next day's female front desk.

The location of the property is great as it is around 1.5 miles from the centre of Stirling but a short walk from the Wallace memorial which has the most amazing views over city. The whole property was immaculately clean and Kim & Kevin were fantastic hosts with a great knowledge of the surrounding area. My husband is celiac however nothing was too much trouble. Excellent property, location and host ad would definitely stay again. If you do want to stay with them try booking direct as it should be cheaper.

The hotel on the mountainside has a very comfortable view. It is a bit far from the city and has free parking. The food and beverages in the hotel are good and the prices are reasonable. Chocolate chip cookies will be presented during check-in, which is a snack that every Double Tree will give away during the journey in the UK. Because it is a prepaid room, it is very convenient to check-out, just put the room card at the front desk. The room is not big. Although the sparrow is small and has all the internal organs, we have three suitcases that can be spread out, and we can leave an aisle. In a British hotel, the size is acceptable. I feel good, I will choose to change the branded hotel if I have the opportunity in the future.

Just an overnight business stay. Beautiful and well-appointed hotel set in wooded grounds at the end of a long driveway. Good sized double room with everything needed EXCEPT a decent WiFi signal. It's an old rambling building and this may have contributed to poor signal, both for WiFi and mobile. This was a bit of a nuisance but not even of a bother to put me off staying again if passing through the area.

I stayed at the HI Express in Stirling for the BTCC racing at nearby Knockhill circuit. The hotel itself is easy to access from the main routes and is clearly signposted from quite a way back on the A91. There's also a spacious car park on site. My room on the 1st floor was clean and tidy and reasonably spacious. The aircon unit was a little noisy to start but soon settled down. The bathroom and shower were also spacious and easy to operate. The staff were lovely and welcoming and got me checked in with zero fuss and also very handily wrote down the amended breakfast serving times (as I was unaware that Scotland had a bank holiday) . The only downside of the stay was breakfast on the second morning. On my first morning (Sunday) the breakfast buffet opened at 7:00 and fully stocked, which made my early start to Knockhill much more pleasant with some sausage and bacon. Unfortunately on the following Monday morning there was no sausage available as it seems the delivery had not arrived, it also seemed to affect other parts of the breakfast offering too. This is the only thing that stops this review being a 5/5.

We stayed at The Black Bull whilst visiting friends and family nearby. It was easy to collect the keys from the key safe and the text came through in good time for our visit. The room was small but really clean & comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a TV with all freeview channels. The bed was really comfortable and afforded a very good night’s sleep. The bathroom again was small but the shower was amazing; best shower I’ve ever used in a hotel for power and I’ve stayed in some top quality 5* hotels in London and around the world. The bar and restaurant was really good; the food was out of this world and very reasonably priced, (even without the Government eat in deal.) We will definitely stay again and thank the hotel, restaurant & bar staff for their friendly welcome. Highly recommend.

The hotel was nice. We arrived on a Friday evening when there was a huge event taking place at the house. Check-in was quick and easy. Rooms were clean just a bit warm. Fortunately, we had a fan in the room. Beds were very comfy. Dinner at the restaurant was ok, nothing fancy but fine for the price. However, staff is in dire need of training. Not one single waitress/waiter was able to smile. They spoke very fast and slurred and we had to wave them to come back for further orders. When we ordered the bill, something went wrong with the card and they just walked away, mumbling something we could not understand. After 10 minutes they still did not get back to us so we had to catch them at the bar in order to clarify what happened. Turned out the card was declined and they did not make any efforts in letting us know. Which left us with a very strange feeling. Breakfast was the same, staff was not able to smile or at least look friendly. It all felt like it was a shame that they had to work. Not sure what the reason is for that as they treated all guests the same way. The next morning we were sitting in the breakfast area with the sun blinding us so we asked them to pull down the blinds but they told us they were just facade. Breakfast buffet was very poor: Kellogs cereal bags (the small ones) 3 bananas, 2 old apples and some grapes.
