I'm writing an honest review that will hopefully save someone some money and time.
We had booked a family room with a balcony for two nights, but we ended up leaving after just the first night.
Let's start with the positives, which are few: the hosts were welcoming (good people, like most in Armenia). We had a decent breakfast, prepared by the hostess at a time convenient for us, including scrambled eggs, bread, vegetables, cheese, sausage, dessert, tea, and coffee. The bed linen and towels were clean. And that's where the good points end.
Now for the negatives: it was filthy! I had seen from photos that the decor was modest and was prepared for that, but I expected cleanliness. Other reviews also claimed it was clean, which was completely untrue. I'll include photos: dirty walls, unwashed floors with dried spills and a dead fly, filthy bathroom fixtures, and so on. The sink in the toilet leaked, forming a puddle on the floor every time you washed your hands. There were no proper curtains, only sheer ones. We arrived after dark, and there were men outside who could easily see straight into our room. This also meant waking up at sunrise, which might be okay for some, but not for us.
The room photos were completely misleading. I was promised a mountain view and a balcony 'drowning in greenery' (compare the balcony photo in the room description with the one I've attached to this review). Instead, our windows overlooked a busy road, with no mountains in sight. We couldn't even turn on the TV as the remote's batteries were ancient. The room itself was simple and everything felt dated, but that would have been acceptable if it had been clean and fully functional. Ultimately, we couldn't stand it and left.
