My friend and I spent a wonderful week at Grifid Hotel Metropol. Considering some of the previous reviews we weren't sure what to expect but soon noticed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food, drinks, or service. Apparently some people don't like the a la carte-type all inclusive but we found it delightful and the service was always good and quick. The foods were superb, and it was possible to get gluten-free dishes as well when requesting them. In addition to the main restaurant we also tried the Italian Restaurant and Fusion Restaurant at our own hotel, and the Sky Restaurant at Vistamar. All of these were great and we really enjoyed the food. If you want to experience the other Grifid Hotel restaurants be quick and book them as soon as you arrive or you might not be able to get a reservation! All the bars were nice and the service was good. Perhaps some of the cocktails weren't as strong during the daytime but I'm sure that's only a positive thing. 🤣 The room was very nice and spacious, and housekeeping did an excellent job every day. The air conditioning was a bit loud and quite effective so we needed to turn it off for the night. That wasn't a problem, though, since it didn't get that warm in our room. The small balcony was cute but often quite windy. We were asked feedback a few times already but a few things to consider: - minibar: The water bottles were great but we don't drink beer or soda so it was useless for us. So was the coffee machine. Wine would have been perfect to enjoy out in the balcony but unfortunately there wasn't any in the minibar. - music and entertainment: There was music playing by the pool but the playlists were quite repetitive - I could hear the same song playing more than a few times during the day. So longer playlists and perhaps something Bulgarian? I couldn't hear local music anywhere. It would be great to have more authenticity all around the hotel since the whole Golden Sands area seemed like a tourist area that could be situated anywhere in the world. - restaurants and bars: The lighting could be dimmer in the evening. So many lights on during dinnertime!! Also, the entertainment at lobby bar was usually around 30 minutes long and we often missed the whole thing. Perhaps two sets during the evening? Additionally, since all the drinks are served in the bars it would be great to have more water dispensers - there was one by the biopool and the beach bar but not in the most obvious place, the upper pool bar. Also to be noted: The wifi doesn't work so well everywhere. I found it funny that it worked at the beach but not by the bed in our room. PS The best spot for sunbathing by the pool bar is the Vistamar side corner - the trees or the building itself won't block the sun! 😊 In sum, Grifid Hotel Metropol is a great adults only hotel, and we highly recommend it!
