Liked Big airy room as you'd expect in a four star business/convention hotel Large well appointed bathroom Comfortable bed Big terrace with (very small) pool overlooking the city – actually not a very pretty view as most of the nicest part obscured – but still a sense of expanse and view Didn’t like Blasting music on terrace at all times I was there. Breakfast was appalling. It was explained to us when we arrived that due to covid they did not allow guests to serve themselves at a buffet but that there would be someone at the counter to serve us and get us what we wanted. What we actually found the next morning was a breakfast service more akin to something you might get at a railway station platform (and not a very good one at that) A few pastries, some prepacked items. There were some bananas and oranges. My husband spotted a fridge with some plastic packages of fruit salad. The coffee was awful. Why when so many coffee machines can provide good quality? Cups, plates and cutlery all disposable so it also looked like a station platform when people had finished. Really slow service at the counter leading to some long queues. This was so far from the standard one would expect of a hotel of this supposed quality and covid is really no excuse. Other hotels we stayed at during our trip were able to provide covid compliant breakfasts. Maybe they are trying to save money as lack of business travel must be an issue for them. Tatty corridor carpet I had chosen this as I wanted a hotel with a pool for relaxing after visiting the city. If returning to Girona I’d probably choose something more central and where I could escape elsewhere for breakfast if unlucky enough to find myself faced with equally poor standard of food and coffee.

Wow, an amazing hotel - perfectly located, whisper quiet and feels brand new. We arrived on a Saturday for 2nights exploring Girona and couldn't have been more delighted. Our room was a suite on level 5 (room 520) and it was sensational. A great lounge room, light and bright with a massive tv (the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel) and comfy couches, tea and coffee making facilities and a sliding door to the massive bedroom (allowing me to go to bed while my husband watched tv till late). The bedroom was great too - large, light and bright (but importantly with block out blinds) and there was also a massive tv in the bedroom (so I did watch some tv before falling asleep). Airconditioning in both rooms on separate units. Also a walk in wardrobe. The sleep quality was excellent as it's whisper quiet despite being located on a major road - the windows are double glazed. The bathroom had a great shower/bath with great water pressure and hot water. Big white fluffy towels. And the bathrooms was big too. Breakfast is served downstairs in a large, light and bright room. It's a buffet and has a great range of fresh meats and cheeses, pastries and hot items. Coffee is either freshly ground or a pod (your choice). There is a hidden rooftop bar and pool (not widely publicized) - on the sixth floor - and a great spot to see Girona and watch the sunset. The location is brilliant. Aldi, Lidl and Mercadona are all literally opposite the hotel (open everyday except Sunday). There is a Carrefour Express a 2minute walk away for Sundays. Great restaurants within walking distance (5-10minutes) - with our favourite La Gioia (a fantastic pizzeria - authentic wood fired pizzas and wonderful service). The old town (no cars) is a 10minute walk away - and I'd recommend walking there via the Parc de la Devesa which is just gorgeous (adjacent to a large tree lined street - perfect and safe to walk along and the park is great for kids, dogs and to just to relax). Parking is so easy. Free parking behind the Aldi and Lidl. Staff were fantastic - warm, friendly, helpful and importantly spoke multiple languages. Special shoutout to Alex, Julia and Roby (and the whole breakfast team). We loved our stay at Doubletree Girona and would definitely stay there again if visiting Girona - which is a great city to explore (and great to cycle in).

We were delayed in France because of the SNCF strikes so found ourselves unexpectedly in Girona limping our way down to our holiday destination of Seville. We needed somewhere good value to stay having travelled across from France by Flixbus. We were arriving very late, around midnight into Girona. I booked online that evening. The process was straightforward. The self check-in was brilliant. The room itself was very clean as was the bathroom BUT the smell was absolutely toxic and overwhelming. I could not use the bathroom at all until we had run the shower empty and flung open the windows of the bedroom. I'm still slightly worried about my first breath on opening the bathroom door. Our room was 307. The only way we could brush our teeth and use the toilet was to cover the shower drain with the bathroom mat. We then closed the door and slept with the bedroom window wide open. The company MUST have known that room 307 had this problem so it is exceptionally disappointing that the room was allocated to us when the company knew this was a late and last minute booking. I dropped a line to the company via *********** just before going to bed which understandably we did as soon as the fumes cleared enough fo us to breathe. In the morning I saw that the company offered us a different room but obviously I had not seen that message the previous night or rather the early hours of the morning. We would like a refund and have requested that but no response. Needless to say , we could not use the shower.

A standard ibis hotel. They have also an Ibis Budget in the same property. Clean room, fully functional bathroom. Big shower area. I have given three stars because I found that charging the standard car rate for a motorcycle in an underground parking which then has small motorcycle spaces for them is too much. Only for this reason when I go thru Girona next time I will explore other options. I don’t like being overcharged.

Last minute trip so options were limited when booking but pleased with the choice. Room was comfortable but the air conditioning didn’t seem to work but it was not a big deal as it was cool enough anyway. Bathroom was fine but the shower would leak on to the floor. Breakfast was at a local cafe just a minute walk along the road and was pretty good. The coffee there was very good on both days. You also had a choice of sandwiches or pastries. Overall a good stay and would come back again if I’m Girona.
