EduCARE Hotel is amazing. We didn’t know what to expect before we came and we were very pleasantly surprised. We got more than we thought. Staff is polite and professional. They speak fluently numbers of languages. Hotel is very well organized, it has two billiard tables, one football table, library,… Saunas and very good restaurant. I recommend everyone to take half board. It is worth. We stayed for two nights (far too little). Only thing we missed in hotel were slippers, and since we forgot to teke them from home, we bought slippers in nearby store (KIK). We were there for skiing in Gerlitzen. We could take a ski bus in front of hotel, but we choose tho go with car. Gerlitzen is a really nice ski resort. So combination with staying in EduCARE hotel and skiing in Gerlitzen was perfect.

Wir waren für ein verlängertes Wochenende vor Ort. Das Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum von Velden unweit der Spielbank. Der Check-In verlief schnell. Da wir per Zufall gegen 15 Uhr da waren, war eine kleine Schlange an Personen vor uns, aber alles im Rahmen. Direkt während des Prozesses wurden wir nach unserer geplanten Frühstückszeit gefragt. Entweder 7-9 oder 9-10:30 oder ab 10:30 Uhr. Frühstück gab es bis 12 Uhr. Zusätzlich hatten wir bei unserem Paket einen einmaligen Snack für einen der Nachmittage inkludiert. Auch hier sollten wir uns schon bei der Anreise entscheiden, was wir ggfs. in drei Tagen essen wollten. Das ist schon schräg. Es gab eine Auswahl zwischen 3 verschiedenen Gerichten, u.a. Brot mit Gemüse oder Kasnudeln mit Salat. Die ausgewählten Gerichte wurden dann auf zwei Karten geschrieben, welche ausgehändigt wurden. Die kostenlose Wörthersee-Plus Card erhielten wir später erst auf Nachfrage. Das Zimmer in der zweiten Etage am Ende des Ganges war mit Blick zum Parkplatz. Per Zufall entdeckten wir am nächsten Morgen die verschiebbaren Fensterläden. Denn die Nacht war etwas hell, da die Übergardine nicht komplett schließt. Mit den Fensterläden war es in den Folgenächten etwas besser. Die Klimaanlage geht nur auf minimal 18 Grad einzustellen, was aber keine 18 Grad waren. Obwohl die Decken relativ dünn waren, war es uns zu warm. Das Zimmer war mit einem Doppelbett sowie eine davor stehenden Ledercouch ausgestattet. Für den schmalen Wandtisch gab es einen weiteren Sitzwürfel. Das Bad ist offen und vom Bett aus kann der sich Duschende komplett beobachtet werden, da es kein Milchglas war. Die Dusche konnte aber mit einer Tür geschlossen werden, was verhinderte, dass das ganze Bad unter Wasser stand. Insgesamt sind die Abstellflächen sehr begrenzt. In der Dusche konnten keine zusätzliche Produkte abgestellt werden, außer auf dem Boden. Lt. Zimmerbeschreibung hätte es einen Kosmetikspiegel geben sollen. Wir haben keinen vorgefunden. Die Papiertaschentücher waren so gut unter dem Waschtisch versteckt, dass ich sie erst am nächsten Morgen entdeckt habe. Das WC war separat und zusätzlich mit einem großen Spiegel ausgestattet, was den Raum optisch vergrößerte. Der Kleiderschrank war offen und mit einem modernen Safe ausgestattet. Dieser war digital und nach oben hin offen, so dass auch große Tabletts verstaut werden können. Im Zimmer gab es eine Nespressomaschine, die mit zwei Kapseln bestückt war. Ein Zettel wies darauf hin, dass weitere Kapseln an der Rezeption vorhanden sind. Was dort nicht stand, dass diese nur käuflich erworben werden können und das nicht täglich aufgefüllt wurde. Pro Kapsel wurde 1 Euro verlangt, also mehr als 100% Aufschlag zum Einkaufpreis. Schade, sicher tut es nicht weh, täglich kostenlos nachzufüllen. Das Frühstück verlief am ersten Tag etwas chaotisch, da wir mitten in einen Ansturm gerieten. Das Frühstück ist auch für externe Gäste zugänglich, die sowohl drinnen als auch draußen sitzen dürfen. Directly at the Woerthersee lake. It offers clean rooms with modern furniture, breakfast, private beach, parking, fitness studio, free WiFI, pleasant staff ready to help, ... It has an excellent location for visiting the town of Velden and the lake area. A good starting point for cycling, swimming and walking. There are many shops, restaurants and a ****** near the hotel. We recommend booking directly through the hotel's website!!!

As said, the hotel is great. Beautiful location, really nice and big rooms (new building), beach club beyond description, restaurant quality above expectation. But... two things were really very bad, therefor one year after our stay still this review. First, if things are broken and your guests ask if they can be fixed, don't say yes and then do nothing. Several lights in our room, including the encased ceiling lights in one room, were not working. I asked the first day, the second day, the fourth day. The desk was very apologetic, very helpful, very kind. But the whole week of our stay nothing happened, nothing was fixed, not a new bulb screwed in. Second, one of the reasons for choosing this hotel was the quality and reputation of the restaurant. Since we would be arriving around 18:00-19:00 I made a reservation for the restaurant when booking the hotel. That night was the only time we ate there because for the rest of the week they were fully booked... I think, maybe I'm wrong, that a restaurant that is part of an hotel like this should keep table available for hotel guests. I've stayed in comparable (and better) hotels all over the world and hotel guests were always let into the hotelrestaurant. Last, when checking out we mentioned the three things above. Yes - you have a great hotel, no - you should walk the talk and do your maintenance and no - the restaurant thing. Nice girl behind the desk: ”so sorry to hear that, see you!”. Do I recommend the hotel? I really don't know...

I will not go into detail about the service, location, or whatever, but I will specifically target the room, because this is not worth an IGH standard. I booked this hotel, because I needed to have surgery in Villach and had to be at the hospital very early in the morning and therefore got myself a room. I will be honest, I took the cheapest room, which was the ”Cozy” and still was 135€ per night for me. When I arrived at my room, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was an adapted conference room, with a pull-up bed. One could clearly see the ”walls” that could be put away and the beamer overhead for presentations. I was just shocked. I will admit, I could have gone back to the front desk to ask them to change the room, but I was kind of nervous and tired, so I didn't do that. And it seems that the hotel was pretty much booked, so I didn't have high hopes for another room... Anyway, apart from this very weird room, also the cleanliness was questionable, the coffee mugs were already covered in dust, the spoons were brown, from past use? As I had to get up very early anyway I didn't mind the preparing of the conference room next door, which involved vaccuming and loud phone calls. If I would have been here for leisure and wanted to get a good sleep in, that would not have been the correct adress. I did tell the hotel about my bad experience and asked them to clarify. Basically they told me that it was my own fault, as I booked the cozy room and that they are indeed cheaper. After consulting the website, one cannot identify on the pictures that the ”cozy” rooms appear to be conference rooms, that can be reused as rooms when needed and have a pull-out-bed. Additionally the ”normal” rooms were just 10€ more expensive, and appear to be nice at least looking at the pics. They did offer me a 10% discount for my next stay. I gladly decline that. Therefore for all others: If you decide to stay at the Voco don't take the Cozy rooms, especially not for that price, its a scam. An IHG hotel should at least have the decency to not sell those ”things” as rooms and certainly not at this price ...

The room is clean and cozy. However, some of the lights in the room are not functioning.

Camere dalla pulizia ottima, nuove e dotate di tutto: cucina con piano a induzione anche se a soli due fornelli, bollitore, macchina da caffè Nespresso con capsule, tisane, the, panna per macchiare bevande e zucchero in dotazione, pentole, taglieri, sottopentola; forno, lavastoviglie (!!!), pastiglie per la lavastoviglie, detersivo per piatti, scottex, carta igienica, phon, shampoo, bagnoschiuma e sapone mani, una Smart tv, wi-fi, un armadio all’ingresso. Manca solo l’aria condizionata, ma per essere agosto, abbiamo dormito bene perché con la finestra aperta c’era freschino! Il tutto è moderno e curato anche nei dettagli decorativi, molto carino! In più è in centro centrissimo, di fronte alla chiesa, e dietro ha il parcheggio. È stato un po’ difficile da trovare, ma basta girare attorno al punto che indica Google maps ed entrare dove c’è un’insegna di foto, nella via della posta, di fronte al negozio esoterik! Il parcheggio è gratuito e non in strada, ma in una corte. Ottimo il servizio di entrata con i codici, così ti permette di andare e venire senza dover rispettare orari!
