Kirindi Paddy Isle

The communication from the host after booking is good. Location is not too far from the airport however as my room is very close to kitchen and the room is not noise free so you can pretty much hear everything from people cleaning , cooking , talking as if you are in the same room all the time. ,even my dinner end at 7 pm the cooking for the staff and all won’t end at around 9 which is not good if you really want to rest up and sleep. Apart from that location is good. Surrounding is beautiful. Food is ok I would prefer more traditional Srilankan than they are trying to make western food and not as impressive. Spring roll is over cooked and vegetables soup was not impressive. It also just that they won’t stop cooking for themselves afterward as well until late night and my room would smell. Maybe they should have circulation better and advertise that we can hear everything all the time as sharing space.

We were looking for a place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy schedule but did not wnat tok travel far. I had reviewed and checked out Kirindi last December but never got to bring my wife along. Finally made a spontaneous decision to surprise and the two of us cannot be more than happy to write this review as we truly were mesmerized by the location and layout of this absolute haven perfectly nestled surrounded by paddy and country side. And as an added bonus for thr avid plane spotter, an amazing viewing of the landing and taking off of aircraft from Bandaranayaka International Airport Katunayeka, located just across the tree lines. Amidst the sounds of the aircraft it's a peaceful place to relax and rest. We stayed at the Olu which has a private plunge pool but even though the property has only two double rooms the Nelum and Olu, it's perfect for a family or small group to get away. Now let's get to the food. Chef NIHAL and the Team truly are amazing. Starting with the Manager Gihan along with Mala the caretaker and the rest truly made our stay very homely. We enjoyed every moment even though our stay was short but will definitely be back. I had a wonderful experience at Kindli Paddy Isle. The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush paddy fields that create a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for a peaceful getaway or a quiet meal away from the city. The ambiance is thoughtfully designed, blending nature with a cozy, aesthetic vibe. It’s an ideal spot whether you’re catching up with friends or just unwinding. The food was fresh and nicely presented, with a good variety to choose from. Service was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. Overall, Kindli Paddy Isle is a great place if you’re looking for good food in a serene environment. Definitely worth a visit!

We stayed at Kirindi before heading to Maldives as it’s close to the airport. It was my husband’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond with a fabulous dinner including fireworks. The property is stunning and the room was gorgeous with a great clean bathroom. Highly recommend. It was a short 15 minute drive to the airport all organised by the staff.
