Richmond Hotels in Fukuyama

Stayed 4 nights in semi-double room. Room is located a couple minutes outside the train and bus station but we had a little trouble finding it since part of the facade was covered for renovation work. It is a grand, old-fashioned hotel but it is well-maintained and nice that the ”old” touches are still there (telephone in the bathroom, coasters for drink glasses). Positives: room was large and functional. I believe all the rooms that face the castle are even larger. There was plenty of space for our luggage and it was great to have a decent table as well as a desk space to work from. Wired internet and wifi worked well. We tried both the Japanese and the breakfast buffet - both delicious. As other reviews have noted, the French toast is especially scrumptious! Also nice that the breakfast lasts a little longer than in most hotels. Negatives: old-fashioned but most of Fukuyama seems from the same era. Housekeeping was generally excellent but on one day, our room hadn't been made up and it was already 3:30 pm. Overall, a great place to stay in Fukuyama.

While looking for a place to break up our Western Japan road trip and unwind for 2 nights in a small, luxury property, we settled on Migiwatei Ochi Kochi, a high-end ryokan in the port town of Tomonoura. Pouring through articles and reviews (mostly in Japanese), we felt that it would offer large, comfortable rooms with great views, easy access to (leisurely) sightseeing and great food. As we had hoped, Miguwatei Ochi Kochi perfectly fit the bill for us. The ryokan is a relatively small property with just 17 rooms, but comes with all of the amenities one would expect from a much larger luxury hotel. It was built in 2010, so it's still relatively fresh and new, with very little sign of wear and tear. While it lacks a tranquil garden that some luxury ryokans have (think Asaba in the Izu Peninsula), its calling card is the view from both its common area and all of its guestrooms - they all have unobstructed views of the Seto Inland Sea, as well as of the Bentenjima and Sensuijima Islands not far away. It's makes for a really relaxing vibe, which combines well with the modern Japanese architecture and decor, which suits this ryokan very nicely. We stayed in an ”Upper Suite Room”, the top room category at the ryokan, and features a bedroom and living room as well as a very nice open-air Onsen (hot springs) bath on the room terrace. It's sufficiently large enough to relax and not feel cramped, and - as a bonus - we had meals served in our own room (which is something that is slowly disappearing from even the top ryokans), which we love. The room was stylish without being cluttered, and its earthly tones gave us a warm, welcoming feeling. The property also has two private baths that can be rented - free of charge - by guests. It's obviously larger than the Onsen bath in the guest rooms, so it was a nice change of pace to try it out. Our first night's meal was otherworldly. This ranks among the top 10 meals we've had in a Japanese ryokan. Sure, they have the advantage of getting access to the bounty of seafood, vegetables and meats from the area, but the kitchen staff then take it and make it truly memorable. Yes, it's technically Kaiseki (like at most ryokans), but Migiwatei Ochi Kochi's dinners are exquisitely presented, uniquely prepared and flavored, and meticulously explained (in Japanese to us, mind you) by the servers. We loved the Conger Eel sashimi, which was a first for us. Conger Eel is a delicacy in Japan, but not so unique that it's not offered in many restaurants. But to be served Conger Eel Sashimi, along with the raw liver of the Conger Eel, was definitely a privilege... often in Japan, along with Sashimi comes the liver of the seafood (especially Eel, Abalone, Octopus, etc.), which means that it's FRESH. One seafood that I generally do not like is Mantis Shrimp, but here, it was pretty darned good, which is saying a lot - I've tried liking it before, but never had one that didn't gross me out. ２ Use twin room in ３ days. The bathroom was divided by glass and the bathroom was a wide 々 with a washroom on the bus. The room is large and the desk is wide 々, so it is enough to work and work on a personal computer. There are USB power and outlets on the bedside １, and it is OK to go and go while charging other devices, of course. Because it was a corona, the meal was avoided by the hotel. There was a convenience store ２ nearest 5 minutes walk and a supermarket (FRESTA), so there was no problem. It was very beautiful because it was open and the staff was also impressive. The parking lot is tower parking, but the staff here was polite and very impressive. If you visit by car, you can use it well because it is the first staff to contact you. The parking lot is 1200 yen / night is a little expensive

I have been living in this house when I am on a business trip. I want to change my taste during the trip. I regret it too late. I will not consider so much after that. I have to live here! Simple reasons Breakfast is quite complete, the lobby is clean and tidy, there are hot springs, and there are many parking spaces.

It is near Fukuyama Station in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is about 3 minutes walk. It was a difficult place to understand when I went by car. It is close to the downtown area and I don't think it is troublesome for eating. There is also a convenience store on the first floor. The room is small, there is no table, and there is no place to put the bag. Perhaps the meal was a measure against the new corona, each side dish was covered with a saran wrap on a small plate. I think it will take a lot of time. Fukuyama Castle is located on the north side of Fukuyama Station, but you can walk.

Very good hotel, spacious than most Japanese hotels. Convenient, Fukuyama Station is the North Exit. Eating and transportation, shopping is convenient.

The business hotel is very clean, the footing is very convenient, the exit is 300 meters

Only here for 2 consecutive nights. At first, unable to figure out how to enter to the hotel, as when arrived there, the entrance door was locked and only able to open with key. Was curious how to have a key before check-in. Later on, found a board that stated ‘To check in, please stop by at the Fukuyama Oriental Hotel which is 3 doors south of this hotel’. Anyway, just small matter since it was just few doors next to the Anchor hotel. The hotel room was spacious and comfy, they provided good quality of amenities, love the shower gel and shampoo! All are Lavender favours... There was a tablet inside the room that show some useful information, such as the nearby restaurants and attractions. The hotel location was strategic too, located near to Fukuyama JR station, only walking distance to Fukuyama Castle! In additions, the hotel also offered a simple breakfast for all the hotel guest! Anchor dog (in-house hot dog), brew coffee and fresh orange juice, you choose to dine in or take away! This was really great as the breakfast was initially not included during the hotel booking. The hotel ambient was really nice... Really enjoyable with my stay with Anchor in Fukuyama!

I stayed in a single room with him for one night. The car stopped at a nearby shopping mall parking lot for 700 yen a night. I got a PET bottle of water at the front desk😊 The room was happy to see the Shinkansen in the corner room 🚄 The room was also large, and the bed was also 2 people, and I could sleep slowly. The pillow was good with a height. I thought it was convenient with a range 🍱 I think it was a hotel with no complaints. It was a very helpful hotel at an affordable hotel. I would like to stay if I come to Fukuyama again 👍🏠
