Toyoko Inn Fukuyama-Eki Shinkansen Minami-Guchi Reviews

Hotel had everything you needed and nothing more. Not that there was one power outlet on the desk, labeled “24h power”, that would keep providing charge to an appliance even when the key card is not the in room power slot next to the door. Use that if you need to charge something while you are out for the day. Complimentary breakfast was basic but got the job done and it was nice to have different spread each morning. The view from the higher floors (mine was on the 13th floor) was amazing, view of the Shinkansen tracks with the Fukuyama castle in the background. The room was insulated sufficiently that the sound of passing Shinkansen trains didn’t bother me too much, but could be more of a problem if you are a light sleeper.

Easy walking to the hotel from Fukuyama station. The Castle near the station can be easily accessed by walking ( not too tough for me who has a knee issue). I could see Toyoko Inn at the top of the Castle ground.Also the cathedral.

The hotel room was located only about 5 minutes from the train station and had many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was very clean, but when taking a shower had to be careful because the temperature fluctuated when in use. The breakfast provided every morning was okay.

Great location, just 8 mins walk to Fukuyama Station. Lots of good eateries around the station. From hotel room, you can have a good view of Fukuyama Castle. The hotel room is neat and clean.

Toyoko is a good net of hotels, we like it!

Room is small and bed is a little uncomfortable. Everything else seems ok.

Breakfast was a little late, so there wasn't much to eat. There wasn't even any bread... The miso soup was delicious. It was nice that we were able to stay there cheaply for two people. It seems there's a designated parking area, but... I didn't think about it and parked in the parking lot right next door, which wasn't affiliated with the hotel... so it ended up being expensive. It would have been nice if the parking directions were a little clearer. Thank you for your hospitality.

Terrible! The room was incredibly small! Cleanliness: So-so. Environment: Terrible! Facilities: Dilapidated! Service: Almost nonexistent! Transportation: Far away and inconvenient; not recommended!

Maybe there were a lot of group guests? It was so crowded that we had to wait in line at breakfast time. Since we had to line up at the breakfast area, I was worried about having to reserve a spot and wandering around with food.

There's only one electric car. You'll need a bit of patience. I'd like at least two. The breakfast menu doesn't have a wide variety of side dishes, but the flavor is good. If I were to be greedy, I'd like a dessert after the meal.

You can see it from the Fukuyama Station platform; it's about a 7-8 minute walk. Take the exit in the opposite direction from Fukuyama Castle, turn right, and keep walking. I especially liked the breakfast at Toyoko Hotel—simple but delicious. I enjoyed the rice, sausage, pickled vegetables, and fried fish. It's a standard business hotel; you can check in at the machine, and there's a Chinese language option. I think if you're not looking for a resort hotel, Toyoko is definitely a good choice—economical and includes breakfast. The rooms aren't large, but the twin rooms are decent.

The sound of the Shinkansen was a bit annoying.

The room is compact but fully equipped, clean and the service staff has a good attitude. Opposite is Fukuyama Castle. The only bad thing is that the Shinkansen is a little noisy when passing through.
