Hakata Excel Hotel Tokyu

This hotel in Fukuoka offered a really good overall experience! I especially want to commend its convenience. Before arriving, I had some hard-to-find items shipped to the hotel after purchasing them online. The front desk kindly received them for me (I emailed them in advance), and I could pick them up directly upon check-in, which saved a lot of hassle. Some things in Kyushu are indeed hard to buy, so being able to have them shipped ahead of time was a real plus. The hotel's location is also very convenient. Taking the 'back entrance' makes it even closer to Nakasu-Kawabata Station, saving about 2 minutes of walking – every step saved counts! However, the convenience stores (a FamilyMart and a Lawson) are next to the main entrance. You can also store your luggage for free both before check-in and after check-out, which is especially great for early arrivals or late departures. For a Japanese hotel, the room was quite spacious. I could open both my 28-inch and 20-inch suitcases and still have aisle space, which I was very happy with. The hotel seems to be undergoing gradual renovations; although my room wasn't new, it was clean and tidy. It had a sort of...refined, aged Japanese style? It didn't feel old, just had a dignified aesthetic. The window view (more than half) was likely facing an adjacent building.

The room was very clean and had a nice view. The location is also excellent, with plenty of ramen shops, yakiniku restaurants, and supermarkets nearby, making it super convenient for food and drinks. The cherry blossoms downstairs were still blooming when we checked in, which was a beautiful sight.

The location is great, with several convenience stores nearby, making it easy to grab water and drinks for the hotel every day. It's also very close to the subway station. The hotel is a bit old but well-maintained, and the service is very warm. Breakfast is simple but meets expectations. It's a hotel with excellent value for money in Fukuoka.

This hotel is super conveniently located! It's right across from the Ichiran Ramen main store, with a FamilyMart on the left and a Lawson on the right when you step out. The bus terminal is also just a ten-minute walk away. From the outside, the hotel doesn't look particularly new, but the room itself was surprisingly modern and quite spacious. It even had a long sofa and a large coffee table. This was actually the biggest hotel room I've stayed in recently in Japan, so I was really pleased!
