Fujisan Station Hotel

Fujiyoshida|1.37km from Fujiyama Onsen
I lucked out and was given a larger bedroom than standard. It was a twin room with ample space between the beds and at the foot of the beds for my large suitcase. The bed had a duvet with a cover which only covered one side which I didn't think was very hygienic (I realise it's a typical Japanese style) and one pillow filled with seeds and the other was a softer tempura style pillow. The bathroom was small but functional. The towels were small and thin and only one was provided. There was mould on the shower curtain. The room lighting was ok and the air conditioning worked well. Unfortunately there were no English language channels on TV. There was one desk with a chair. A cupboard and good sized safe which wasn't fixed to the cupboard and a fridge. Wi-Fi was poor and kept on dropping in and out. I tried changing rooms but there was no improvement. The hotel offered free parking and it was just over the road from the train and bus station. I was able to catch a bus from there to Tokyo Haneda airport very easily. That said, booking it was a nightmare because the bus company wouldn't take internet bookings and the hotel refused to help me reserve a seat. The breakfast was ok with enough western choices such as cereal, yoghurt and croissants. The restaurant was a nice bright room. I used the hotel washing machine and dryers (for a small fee). They worked well although the machines were a bit dirty. No English was spoken at reception so communication was difficult. There were a few restaurants within walking distance (or if you drove with parking). 7 Elevens were about 10 minutes walk away. The hire car outlet was about 30 minutes walk away.

Loved my stay here! Very beautiful surroundings, lovely room and staff, and convenient location for visiting Mt Fuji and surrounding areas. Bself has a kind of lodge-like feel to it, or at least the main building does. I stayed in a “superior double” room, on the second floor in a build which was detached from the main building. If you’re gonna stay here, my recommendation would be to get a room with your own private onsen. I’m aware that there’s a communal onsen for all guests (which I never checked out), but it’s so amazingly nice to have your own onsen on your own private balcony! What I loved was that it was a traditional-style (yet new) Japanese ALL-WOODEN bathtub. And the view was very serene, overlooking trees and the night sky. This private onsen would be my reason for visiting. Honestly, it was that nice to just sit in that wooden tub staring at the night sky and nearby trees. I thought that bedroom was tastefully done and spread out nicely. Rather large for a Japanese room, as it also came with a nicely-sized wooden dining table that would spaciously sit two, and if one had a few more chairs could squeeze in four or even five total. There are two showers, one indoors in the bathroom and another outdoors next to the bathtub. I much preferred the outdoors one! When one goes into the main building, there’s an open coffee and tea area with a piano and ping-pong table! I didn’t play either, but they both seemed open for guests. I also got to meet and speak with the manager and staff who were all friendly and courteous. Really wonderful place to stay!

I stayed for two nights on the first floor in a bunk bed. It was my first time staying at this type of accommodation, but I had a comfortable stay. My mom is also a nice person, and she was using it for a Johnny's concert. My mom is also a Queen fan, and when she told me about going to a LIVE show next year, it was easy to talk to her because I felt a little sympathy for her ^ ^

Very close to the station and there are restaurants and Lawson nearby. There are both indoor and outdoor onsen (after 9pm or before 9am will have less people) for woman, and if you are tall enough then you will be able to see Fuji mountain when you are enjoying the onsen. Our room is high enough so can see the Fuji mountain directly!

The owner manager is very concise on check in times etc the spotless rooms are huge 30sq metres and Ryokan style tatami mats small table and futon mattress with doonas. The air-con is very efficient at keeping the room warm and is in a quiet area. Would stay again thanks!

I had never stayed in a hostel before, and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very clean place, has a wonderfully fun decor, fresh bread and eggs up for grabs, and all other funky features like band aids and toothbrushes - It was quite amazing for a novice like me! The rooms are small and basic: our had one bunk set and one single. I found the mattress a little thin, but gents didn’t complain. The lounge area is compact, but was good for engaging with other travelers. It’s not the place to have late night fun though, as sound carries a little. The host was a bit cold, but no matter really.

We love this place and the very nice view of Mt Fuji. Everything here is good, spacious and walking distance to Mt Fuji Stn and 7-11. Just that Near the railway sometimes it's a bit noisy but no problems for us. Check in system really difficult, luckily the cleaner passby to help us. We will come back one day.

Location is fantastic a short walk from Mt Fuji station. Property is straight forward and clean, with a great dining area and then a fantastic rooftop with uninterrupted views of Fuji San. (You’ll want to see it from other vantage points but a still great to see it from the hotel so easily.) Bicycles for rent upon availability which are a great way to get around town. Staff are all great and willing to help with any information on things to see and do. One of my best experiences travelling in Japan. Photo is from the rooftop.
