"The toilet smells so fishy. I added another $600+ for additional 2 guests on the day itself for 2nights (no extra room added-just futon bed, ori price of 2guest in one room was $700+ for one night). Pls take note when you book via trip.com, even though they wrote there 2 single bed and 4 futon bed in one room, pls take note of the number of guests 🥹🤡🫣 and facilities are quite old Only good thing is they provide shuttle bus from bus station to hotel / hotel to station"

"A lovely ryokan located about 8 minutes drive from Kawaguchiko station. The ryokan provide shuttle bus during check in, to call upon arrival (I called via trip.com internet call) and wait at platform number 10 for pick up. They also provide free shuttle bus service to oishi park (schedule would be informed during checkingin), and free pick up from Kawaguchiko station everyday during our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly English and mandarin speaking staff are available. The service was great, as this was my first time staying in a Japanese ryokan, so I wasn't sure if every ryokan provide the same service that there is a staff led us to our room and explained the amenities to us during checking in. The breakfast and dinner was superb! We were so amazed by the breakfast and dinner everyday. The room is equipped with fridge, ice water in jug, complimentary drinks and cookies, private shower, towels, hair dryer and outdoor slipper. You can wear yukata that was provided to move around the hotel. The room window and restaurant is facing directly at lake Kawaguchiko, unfortunately it was cloudy during my stay and we couldn't catch any fujisan view. There are indoor and outdoor onsen, with the outdoor onsen offering a Mount Fuji view. Changing room has locker but make sure u bring your room towel to the onsen. And like the other onsen in Japan, facial cleanser, hair shampoo, conditioner and body wash are available. The changing room is also equipped with facial cleanser, moisturiser, body lotion, hairdryer, and comb."

"It was great! The hotel was clean and nice. They have an onsen bath, breakfast, and evening drinks. The room was good too – clean, spacious, and not cramped. If you get hungry in the evening, you can easily walk to the shopping mall right next door to grab some food and browse around. A lot of Thai people stay here. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip. There's plenty of parking, but it's first-in-first-out."

Whether it’s early morning when the summit catches the first rays of sunlight, or during a serene sunset, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Kawaguchiko is simply unforgettable. I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint. ⸻ 🚶♂️ Getting There: Worth the Scenic Walk Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day. ⸻ 🛏 Tatami Rooms: Authentic and Comfortable The tatami-style room was clean, spacious, and gave us a deeply authentic Japanese lodging experience. Sliding doors, futon beds, and traditional touches made our stay both relaxing and culturally immersive. ⸻ ♨️ Hot Springs: Cozy, Not Crowded The hotel features both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). While not particularly large, they are a nice bonus to unwind after a day of exploring. Since they only accommodate a few people at a time, it’s best to avoid peak hours. ⸻ 🍱 Meals: Included and Delicious Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was outstanding. A beautifully arranged kaiseki-style dinner showcased seasonal ingredients, fresh sashimi, grilled seafood, and hot pots. Breakfast was equally satisfying with a variety of small dishes and a perfectly cooked grilled fish. Everything was crafted with care and served with hospitality. ⸻ 📝 Suggestions: • Bring a tripod if you’re planning to do photography or time-lapses — the view is too good not to capture properly. • Try both the indoor and outdoor onsen during quiet hours to fully enjoy the experience. • Use the shuttle service if you’re carrying large luggage, as the walk (while scenic) do take around 30 minutes. ⸻ ⭐ Final Verdict: 9/10 Hotel Mifujien is all about the view — and it delivers. Combine that with great meals, clean traditional rooms, and hot springs, and you have the perfect base to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory."
