Collecting the door code information was the worst experience I have had in staying at a hotel (and I was once a business traveler with 80% travel required). After booking the room, I was not told at all about how to get the code. I called a number and had to leave a message. When the person called me back, they then gave me a link to fill out information for a virtual check-in (what if I didn't call????). The form seemed to insist on me giving a lot of information that was intrusive for each guest (including ID number). I tried to call back to see if it was necessary to fill out all of that info per each of my 8 guests, and with no answer, came to the conclusion that I had to. After the long process of completing that, the form did not direct me to any page saying I was completed, nor that I would get the code for the door or address. We set outside in the parking lot of the property trying to decide who to call. Finally, my wife found a number, in which the person on the call asked me for a picture of my credit card (which was not asked of me before) and finally emailed me the code. Every step of the process required proactive work on my part, or we would have been room-less that night. Finally, once we got in the room, there was a large rip in the carpet, a dangling toilet roll dispenser and the look of a place that haven't had a maintenance visit in quite a while. Needless to say I won't be coming back to that property.
