La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ft. Myers-Sanibel Gateway

Front desk help was wondeful. However, No hot water during our stay. No fencing around the front sides of the building- Security concerns.

There is still a very damp smell in the hotel and the breakfast could have been better. It was very clean, and the pool was heated so that was nice

Looked in all of the doors for our own security and that’s when we found the doors between rooms and figured out what they’re for and how they worked so we just left it shut but then a minute later I got 2 phone calls from the front desk explaining what the doors are for and to leave them shut which we already figured out and was planning to leave them alone. A minute after the phone calls we hear someone in the hallway going nuts and then a knock on our door which was Rich from the front counter along with the guy in the next room over. Rich explained the door situation again because he had to since the guy next door to mine was the regional manager and he was the one that sounded violent before I opened the door. Decided to not stay the night and they’re “very sorry” that they couldn’t refund me any money. When checking out that night Rich explained to me that this kind of stuff happens all the time and the regional manager just had a bad day so there’s nothing he can do to give me a refund. The regional manager should be fired for acting that way towards other guests and the hotel was definitely not as nice as the pictures online make it to be. I was there for maybe 15 minutes total before checking out and when checking the room out I found bugs on the toilet seat and 1 in the shower

Beds were not comfortable , sheets were very old and rough. Lighting in room was horrible.

water pressure was not good, first room was smelly changed to a better room. Area looked bad as a result of the hurricane damage.

Bathroom door did not close. Room was not cleaned. Beds were not made. Trash was not picked up. Towels were not renewed. We actually had to REQUEST clean towels. Very disappointed with service.

Check in lady was awesome, frienly and a huge help. Newer bathroom, mattresses need uograde, walls a little thin ( could here next door neighbors conversation) & need better lighting outside. Breakfast was great! Clean, tasty and plenty of food selections. Breakfast manager was great. Hot tub heater was broken, but, pool was nice. Great overall stay for price & 8 minute proximity to Ft Meyers Beach...25 minutes to River District ( shops & restaurants).

The property had a great location, price and pool area. The staff was also professional and pleasant. The areas that were lacking were the many areas that needed repairs after the hurricane.

What stands out about this stay is the staff. They’re refreshingly friendly and accommodating. The hotel is still recovering from the hurricane, so my room was spacious and nice, the pool looked fantastic, breakfast was good and in a very nice space, but there is still work to be done. The gym has lots of inoperable equipment and there are still areas in need of repair throughout the interior and exterior of the property. Once all the work is complete, I suspect better reviews will follow.
