Bed & Breakfast Il Bargello
4.5/543 Reviews
Florence Historic Center
Il Bargello is situated in an unbeatable location, close to everything in Florence. The service is very welcoming, and the rooms are in line with the price. The highlight is the abundant and varied breakfast, as well as the 24-hour coffee. The only downside is that we had a lot of luggage and there's no elevator, so we had to climb three long flights of stairs with all our belongings, but this seems to be a common issue in Italy. Interesting fact: in the room next door, there was a couple being very noisy while *********** all day, and it could be heard throughout the entire hotel, which was quite annoying.
Aqa Palace

What a great find! Aqa palace is a small b&b (just a few rooms) in a beautiful building in a quiet street, ideally located within 5 minutes walk to most places of interest in Florence (Duomo, Uffizi Galleries), with lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Our room (number 5) had a huge private terrace with a view, it was large, clean, comfortable, had everything we could have asked for. There is a shared kitchen area where you can get silverware and glasses if you need them, or make tea/coffee, etc. Rosi was the best host, helpful and dedicated, she made us feel special and was available everytime we needed her whilst also being discreet when we didn't. There is a valet parking service which worked quite well for us as we didn't need the car during our stay in Florence, so they took it away and brought it back when we left, convenient! The only thing we were disappointed about was breakfast - other reviews here say it's large and delicious, but this was probably before Covid as the breakfast we got was pretty small and basic, with no choice (it's a set plate, not a buffet). Maybe it was different before. Overall, an amazing experience, and we would definitely recommend staying there! We felt like we were living in Florence, in this fantastic place. Would do it again!
San Firenze Suites & Spa

The room is super large, the roof is very high, the room layout is very beautiful, it is said that the sofa cushion is changed every half a year. The traffic is quite convenient, 10 minutes walk from Baihua Church, not noisy at night.
Grand Hotel Cavour

We had room 531. It was a nice room with a window to the front of the building. We picked this hotel for the location (to the right the river to the left the Duomo) and the rooftop bar looked like a great way to spend our evenings. The room was very noisy. Yes, it was at the front of the hotel, but the windows did not seem to help diminish the noise. It was especially noisy from above us - we assume the bar. Big, loud bangs - like someone dropping bowling balls. There was a lot of noise from the door slamming. They did not close - they all slammed. The blow dryer sucked. Did not blow hot air at all. I called the front desk and asked for another. Did you know - in the entire hotel there was not a replacement hairdryer to be found? (I know this may seem small, but if you have as much hair as I do - you tend to rely on some basics working). The rooftop bar - the views are unbelievable and exactly as pictured. They just need a staff that can take basic drink orders. They had 3 people every night working, but they seemed inept. We enjoyed our evenings there - but it could have been so much better. Would I stay there again - probably.
Casual Rinascimento Firenze

The hotel is located very close to Florence’s sights but not on a main tourist route and with some great restaurants nearby. Rooms were spacious, well maintained and clean with modern bathrooms and USB power points. The staff were friendly and the buffet-style breakfast included scrambled eggs along with fresh bread, cold meats, cheese, pastries, cereals, etc. The spa (pool and sauna) is small but atmospheric and is limited to six people, so must booked at reception in advance. There are no towels in the spa but I was told I can take them from my room, just wish I’d know that before I changed. Our shower didn’t appear to have hot water so we had to switch-on the taps in both the shower and sink for the water to heat. Once we'd been told this it wasn’t a problem, but we had to wait for an hour on our first night before maintenance arrived and explained. Perhaps the receptionist will be told or it will be fixed for other guests? There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room but the maid often forgot to leave any replacement tea/coffee or cream. I know that’s a minor issue but when you have to queue at reception on multiple days to ask for more tea it becomes a little annoying. When we return to Florence Casual Rinascimento will be our first-choice hotel, but I’ll pop some teabags in my case next time.
Il Gattopardo B&B

AVOID AT ALL COST! This is the first time I ever write a review because I want to warn other guests. Terrible experience. The room I was given was extremely noisy and I could barely sleep all night. Even when the window is closed, it sounds like it is open and you hear everything that happens in the street (people shouting, garbage trucks, etc). Additionally, the whole building is not well isolated meaning that if somebody enters at night or uses the bathroom you will hear it as well. Essentially, it was nearly impossible to sleep. Plus, in the morning, when I showered I got 2 mins of warm water and then straight cold water. The next day, in the morning, I mentioned the noise issue to the manager and asked her to checkout a day early and get a refund for the night I am not using. There was no point for me to sleep there again with all the noise. They refused to refund me the 120 euros night, despite me having valid reasons to leave. I still went to another hotel and therefore lost the 120 euros. The place is fully booked and I am pretty sure they will be able to rent my room again, hence making twice the money. This is borderline scammy.
