It was a very pleasant stay, although I didn't get to spend much time in the hotel as I was just in Florence for one night, breakfast was nice with variety of choices, staff were friendly and can speak English, room was clean, AC was working perfectly, everything including the duomo was in walkable distance (only like 10 mins walk to the duomo). I had to leave the room key to the reception everytime I leave the hotel which felt a bit strange at first, however apparently this is a norm there as my brothers who were staying at another hotel at the time had to do the same as well. Last but not least, you can have a fantastic view of the city at rooftop of hotel, especially nice to see the sunrise! Will definitely stay here again, highly recommended!

The place is very near from everything, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very delicious, the room is very big and clean and the bathroom is very clean as well. I loved the hotel and the city. This was the best experience in europe so far.

Great location, very close to the cathedral! Good service but the facilities are old and the breakfast is not very varied.

I was assigned room number 30. Unfortunately an inadmissible room: incredibly small; the ceiling very low; two small windows open above the bed; the toilet is incredibly narrow so that you can hardly turn around and you almost have to lie over the toilet when showering; the water from the shower flew against the door and thus into the whole room (little room!!!); you can hear almost everything that's going on in the room next door. Then there's the fact that you ended up paying €4.00... There was no mention of that when I booked. It seems that everything is reason enough to get the visitor's money. The breakfast was pretty good. The reception was also staffed by nice people. I am of the opinion that such a room should not be allowed at all. I will not recommend this hotel (my experience is limited to room number 30. I can't talk about the other rooms! - to any of my friends or acquaintances.

Very nice and lovely owners, we had a bag with lock that got locked shut and the nice man at reception was quickly happy to loan me some tools to break it open even though he could barely understand what I was saying Aswell as it being an off request. Lovley breakfast and great location, very clean nice rooms. I would stay here again if returning to Florence.

A charming albeit somewhat old fashioned hotel very conveniently located a few minutes walk from the Duomo. The staff were very helpful and charming and our room was clean and and reasonably sized. Breakfast was very good value. The views from the solarium were spectacular. The hotel is on the top floor of a building although there is a lift. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Not sure why this hotel has a 4 star, as the only thing I found good about it was the location. All else was pretty bad. 1) It is not a hotel and more like a hostel. Bathroom has no separate shower/tub, and we had to shower on the bathroom floor, getting the floors all wet. 2) no hand towels , just shower towels and towels to wipe your butt which are very thin. 3) Did I see one review saying this hotel was " quiet"? No way, as we were on the 2nd floor, and heard a bunch of young people screaming and making loud noises well past 11pm. 4) breakfast was bad , not even expresso or cappuccino in the morning, just regular cups of coffee. Never seen that at an Italian hotel. Maybe there are others, but I have not. Can say their croissants were good but other than that, nothing to write home about. And for all this the price was not cheap, with the tax had to pay about 150 euros for this.

Hotel is located at excellent location, on walking distance to every important cathedral or monument you need to see. Staff is nice and helpful, breakfast is excellent, rooms are very nice and clean. The rooftop of hotel itself is flat, actually it is a terrace with excellent view on the city.

Made to feel very welcome. Hotel staff went above & beyond our expectations to relieve a stressful situation. Location was great, with easy access to the center of Florence. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast selection was excellent.

Positive: 1)The location is excellent, close to the main attractions whichever the direction you go 2)The reception staff are helpful and professional 3)Tariff is quite cheap considering the location in this tourist flourished city Negative: 1)Room lights are all fluorescent ones, which made me a bit uncomfortable 2)The toilet smelled of sewage and the horrible noise followed after flushing - don't know if this problem was only for our room. 3)Noisy with young revellers' shouting on the street until early morning. As I did so just in case, you'd better bring your earplugs On the whole, you will get what you paid for, which I could make myself understood.

Very odd place on the fourth floor then rambling on and on. Great views. The apartment was spotlessly clean but a bit tired and in need to some investment. The guy on reception was really prickly and not really bothered about the fact that we couldn’t hook onto the website of the hotel. The breakfast was…….. awful.

We had an excellent experience with Hotel Bodoni in June 2022 with a five-night stay in Florence. Check-in was easy, the hotel and breakfast area is clean, and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. While we speak limited conversational Italian, the staff speaks fluent English for the more complex conversations we had. The hotel has outdated decor including rooms that feel more like a nice US college dormitory, but the rooms and common areas are clean and feel relaxing. The breakfast was wonderful, and they have a beautiful, relaxing fourth-floor patio for eating or lounging and a fifth-floor solarium with a nice view of the Duomo and city. The night shift and breakfast staff are our favorite, and we even became friends and exchanged contact information with the night clerk. The hotel is in a great location for walking the city. It is about two blocks from the tourist areas, so the nights are quiet and restaurants excellent but inexpensive compared to the heart of the tourist area. An example is that we had delitious gelato from a gelateria a few building down from the hotel for 3 euros, whereas the same amount would have cost us 10 euros four blocks farther into the tourist area. The hotel is also located within a five-minute walk of some of the best restaurants we visited during our trip to Italy. Do not be fooled by the post office facility next door to the hotel that is ugly concrete, dirty, and looks derelict; the neighborhood is extremely safe to walk at all hours of the day. Hotel Bodoni is now our go-to hotel in Florence.
