Helvetia&Bristol Firenze – Starhotels Collezione

Florence Historic Center Florence|0.39km from Basilica of Santa Maria Novella
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the train station. Because Florence SMN is in the old town, it is recommended to take a taxi if you push the box. Between 7 and 9 euros. Always check these hotel reviews, it is too long and too small. Patio room and more. I have to correct it here. First, the hotel belongs to the five-star hotel of LEADING Hotel. Second, the hotel house itself is a historic building. More than two hundred years of history. Third, the hotel was just renovated in 2019. At present, some rooms on Ctrip are not updated. Fourth, the hotel entrance is Lu, the door is Cartier, next to BV, Bulgari, GUCCI. Walk to Republic Square for two minutes. Go to the old bridge of Vignano for ten minutes. Great location. Fifth, the hotel service is really worthy of five stars. Always smile, funny, provide free drinks, the doorman will always take the baggage and send it directly to your room. And carefully introduce the surrounding environment and provide Chinese maps and introductions to Florence. Sixth, the decoration of the hotel is very tasteful. Of course, the paintings and statues seen in a building more than two hundred years old are antiques. And many hotels in Italy and even five-star hotels in Europe are small rooms in historic buildings. The current area in a Baroque building is really small. Eighth, the hotel is a back-shaped building, so the window in the middle room is called the “patio”. If you don’t like it, you should adjust it in advance. Ninth, the toiletries in the room are really luxurious. . And there are slippers and kettles that Chinese people like in the room. Tenth, the towels in the restrooms are all brand new cotton towels. I don't want the kind of towel that has been used for a long time. And the water pipe with a small detail hanging towel is a hot water pipe. It should be specially designed by the hotel. The hot water is very hot. If the clothes are hung on the top, it will be done the next day. The hotel has not made publicity. It will become the net red hotel in the future.

The hotel is located on the banks of the Arno River. The main entrance of the hotel is directly opposite the French consulate. There is a small square in front of the hotel. You can temporarily park your car temporarily and open small markets on weekends. Five minutes walk along the river bank is Uffizi Gallery, Old Bridge! The window opened in the room is directly opposite the Baihua Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the church can be opened to the full view of the church. The left hand old bridge and the right hand Holy Trinity Bridge, the view is excellent! The bedding is comfortable, the room area is relatively large in Italy, classical and luxurious. The only dissatisfaction was that the booking fee was clearly the money for the river view room, but the front desk said that the reservation was only for a superior room. But polite and old-fashioned at the same time, because I emphasized that if it was n’t for the river view room, there would be no meaning to live here. The front desk said that I was sorry the room was full, and I could upgrade to the river view room on the balcony of the administrative floor if I added 200 euros. After expressing dissatisfaction, I asked to wait at the front desk for a while, but also forced them to check the room again, and finally got this river-view room without replenishment! I don't know if this is the case, it is Ctrip or the hotel routine.

This place is a scam and stole $300 of my money. DO NOT BOOK HERE. After returning to my room for my first evening in Florence, I found out that none of the electrical outlets/sockets worked. Therefore, I couldn’t charge anything, which is essential, nor use any electrical devices in the room, but the ability and importance of this was entirely lost on Giacomo, the concierge that night, who repeatedly told me, very loudly, it must be my phone and I wasn’t telling the truth about the room because the electricity was fine. He also suggested I leave my phone with him overnight to charge and reclaim it in the morning, which was unacceptable. He also refused to contact the manager because “he was away for the weekend and busy.” Sure. After multiple rounds of him not believing me, I had him test his own personal iPhone charger in the room. Guess what? It didn’t work either. That was when he decided he could actually call the manager. The manager, who also stated he was the owner of the hotel, wouldn’t offer a room change that night nor a refund. He was also insistent I stay the night in the room I was originally given and then wait until the next day when he could be in the hotel and have me moved into a larger room. Because my vacation now revolves around when it’s convenient for him to move me to another room? Simply put, this hotel couldn’t offer a suitable room for my first night, which forced me to check out and go elsewhere. The manager/owner refused any refund and was dismissive, condescending when I spoke to him. Please, do yourself a favor and NEVER book with this hotel. Beyond what I experienced, the rooms are abysmal and barely a two-star quality hotel. I’ve stayed in nicer hostels. Oh, and when I requested a refund through ***********, the hotel tried to mark me as a “no-show”. Good thing I have photographic proof I was there and just shows how dishonest management is here.

We came to Florence after taking a 7-day river cruise, a perfect way to end our Europe holiday. The Santa Maria Novella is a great hotel that's close to everything. Easy walking distance to main attractions, 10+ good restaurants around the block alone. The room was spacious, great bathroom. Room service was excellent! This is somewhat of a rarity nowadays and we were very impressed. Tip: if you can, get a room that faces the piazza. Ours was interior-facing and our view was plumbing. The concierge was very helpful at all hours and the breakfast buffet is truly the best. I could have made that my main meal of the day! The train station is a convenient walk, and the bus too. Take the #7 up to Fiesole for a day. One of the best views in all of Italy!

The primary experience I want to share with everyone is don’t bother going to this place for a number of reasons. Firstly, a twin room had been booked and confirmed but when we arrived, we were told that there was a double bed in the room and nothing could be done to resolve this issue until the next day. We also found the allocated room was not on a floor directly serviced by a lift so we had to carry our luggage from the lift, down/up stairs to the floor where the room was located. This establishment is NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY!!!!!! The room was dark and dingy, serviced by two bedside lights and one table lamp - even when all were turned on, there was insufficient light. There was one very small window to bring in light from the outside but on looking through the curtains, one could see the properties and their HVAC systems up close. The room decor appears to not have been updated since the 1980s and the bathroom was a disgrace. It looked like an absolute amateur had refurbished it. This property was also described by our travel service as providing an “American buffet breakfast”. Certainly not that but a very poor Continental breakfast with rolls, croissants and some breakfast cereals. The staff would make an espresso or cappuccino if asked. Diabetics, you won’t find very much to your taste here!!!

Very close to the Florence train station, very convenient. If you arrive at the hotel at 8 pm, there is no waiter. You need to wait for the guests to come out to enter. It is best to stay before 8 pm. Breakfast is average. Okay. The location is very convenient.

The location is first-class, the environment is very good, the breakfast is comfortable, and the service is absolute. This hotel is really not a good place to go on a business trip, and I like it very much. But the facilities make people feel uncomfortable, although the owner should be sincere. The air conditioning system seems to have cost a lot of money, but guests cannot control it themselves. They need to contact the front desk every time and it starts very slowly, which makes people feel troublesome. The lights in the toilet are so bright that you probably won't be able to sleep if you go to the toilet at night. There were bugs in the room. I saw an electric mosquito coil, but I didn't think it was bedbugs. Fortunately, I didn't find any itching problem after staying for two nights. The front desk clerk checks in and sends you to your room after completing the check-in process. Haha, it feels weird. If the hotel and room facilities are quite satisfactory, you don't need such service. The curtains in the room are also weird. The outermost layer is half-opened. Haha, the shape is unique. The wardrobe is also weird. This is the first time I am so confused about reviewing a hotel. Overall it is good, but I feel that many places are a bit strange. So I canceled my last night's stay and moved to another hotel.

The location of the hotel is very good, about 10 minutes away from the railway station. The breakfast was good. The room is small and the bathroom space is okay. The dissatisfied place this time is that the facilities are a bit old, the bedside socket is very weird, and the connection is bad. The first time I encountered the converter, it didn't work. Fortunately, I gave a socket board to solve it, but sometimes the connection is still bad. The sound insulation is a bit poor, but acceptable. In addition, the entrance of the hotel has changed, the address entrance is closed, and the entrance is merged with another hotel, and it will be found after a while.
