Shuiyun Yaju River View B&B (Fenghuang Ancient City Branch)

The ancient town lived up to expectations. My overall experience this time in the ancient town was great. The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. They patiently answered all my questions about directions and recommended local delicious food, and even proactively offered tips for sightseeing. It made me feel very much at home and made exploring so much more pleasant.

The room was great, the balcony was amazing, and it was very clean. The owner was also very welcoming. I needed an extra hour to get ready after taking photos during the day, and they happily accommodated me. Really appreciate it, thank you!

The night view was beautiful, and the people were even more so; Fenghuang Ancient City under the lights was exceptionally charming. In the morning, the Tuojiang River was misty, birds were singing, and after a stroll along the river and a moment of remembrance at Shen Congwen's tomb, reading his 'Border Town' brought a sense of his romance, leaving no worries in my heart.

Overall, my stay was quite pleasant. The owner picked me up from the station and even helped arrange a taxi when I left. The room was right by the Tuojiang River, and the view from the window was excellent. It was a very comfortable stay. The pictures are of the view from the room's balcony.

This B&B is located downstream from the scenic area, so it's quiet and peaceful, allowing you to really experience local life. It's also a nice stroll back to the B&B after seeing the night views. The value for money is excellent; if you're too tired to walk, a taxi ride is a bargain at just 8 yuan. Being downstream from the scenic area actually has an advantage: it's close to residential areas, so the breakfast spots and restaurants nearby aren't just geared towards tourists. We asked the B&B owner for recommendations and he suggested a restaurant just a few minutes away that we ended up eating at twice – definitely recommend it. Don't waste time searching on social media; just ask the owner where they usually eat!

The room was quite spacious and very clean. The balcony overlooking the river was especially pleasant! The owner was incredibly nice; he even offered to pick us up and drop us off. When we accidentally broke a glass in the room upon leaving, he didn't even charge us for it. He's a really great owner, and quite humorous too!

[Shuiyun Yaju Wubridge Store] - Living in a Jiangnan Ink Painting on the Tuojiang River The location is superb, right by Wubridge, much quieter than the Hongqiao side. Opening the window reveals the Tuojiang River, with views of Yunbridge and Wubridge. In the mornings, when the river is foggy, it's especially ethereal. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Our third-floor river-view room offered an unbeatable view. The owner and staff are incredibly warm and helpful, offering pickup and drop-off services and providing local tips. Today, it rained, and they even drove me to the Maglev station, which I truly appreciated. If you love peace and quiet and want to experience the charm of the ancient town, this is the perfect place. It's convenient for exploring the old town during the day, and at night, you can stroll around Wubridge and fall asleep to the sound of the water. This is the slow pace of life Fenghuang should offer. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.
