Family friendly Hotels in Tangier

The hotel location was slightly far from the main station which means you need a taxi up down. Facilities are only opened from 9 to 6pm and cleanilness is questionable with flies. Room is ok, spacious but low floor. Hotel has a splendid view of the sea.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in late April 2023. We arrived from Casablanca, by high speed train. The train station, clean and modern, is right across the street from the Hilton Tanger. Upon arrival we were upgraded from a king exec room a to junior suite. Loved the room. It was spacious, big bathroom with separate tub and shower, 2 sinks and bidet. Lots of closet space. Housekeeping brought us extra pillows that we requested. We were on the 8th floor facing the sea so we had a view of the coast. We could see Spain in the distance and the ferry coming and going to the Tangier port. Before going for breakfast we made coffee in the room with the capsules provided. The breakfast buffet is great, lots of variety, eggs on order, hot and cold dishes, Moroccan and Western. The restaurant is on the 15th floor with fantastic views over the beach and the sea. There is a mall attached to the hotel. I bought a nice Tshirt in a ladies shop and we bought some snacks at the supermarket. We walked down to the beach and along the boardwalk area that stretches for a long distance toward the port and further east. It is so clean. Workers regularly clean beaches and streets. You rarely see plastic bottles or wrappers strewn about. We took a taxi to the Medina 2 days in a row and wandered around. One day into the museum. It was okay.

Going at the end of March, the hotel is located in the mountainous area on the outskirts of Tangier, Morocco, and the scenery is relatively good. But because it is Ramadan, there are not many basic guests, and the swimming pool is under maintenance. The buffet for $50 per person is relatively low cost, the food is not much and it is not added, the customer service staff basically does not understand English, and the communication is relatively difficult. Breakfast ordered a 200ml cup of orange juice, charged $12, a bit outrageous, of course, the room facilities reached the five-star standard. After leaving the hotel, I found that I had overcharged an inexplicable $250 and had asked the bank for a refund. The overall service level can be at the star level of 2-3. Not recommended, the price is too low.

I was welcomed very friendly by Hotelmanager Omar el B. I got this beautiful room with panoramic view of Tangiers and at the other side the swimming Pool. He goes far for his guests and speaks fluent Arabic, French and English. The hotel is tot a Golden Tulip hotel anymore but the service is still great. As an example I needed a top-up prepaid card for my mobile internet services and the crew went out and bought it for me. Every time I come back from outside the doormen welcomes me and the manager is always waving at me. It’s the second time I stayed here with the same experience and in August I will come back again to this beautiful hotel with great staff, spa and swimming pool were you can chill in peace without the noice from a busy city.

My recent stay at the Barcelo Hotel in Tangier was a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations. Rooms: My room was spacious, modernly furnished and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the amenities such as the free Wi-Fi, minibar, and flat-screen TV made my stay very enjoyable. The balcony with a sea view was an absolute highlight. Service: The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and professional. From the moment I checked in until my departure I felt very welcome. Food and drink: The breakfast buffet was extensive and of high quality, with a wide choice of both local and international dishes. The hotel restaurant serves delicious meals, and the room service was fast and efficient. Facilities: The hotel facilities are excellent. The pool and gym are well maintained and provide a great way to relax. The hotel also has meeting rooms and a business center, making it ideal for business meetings. Conclusion: I highly recommend the Barcelo Hotel Tangier to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay in Tangier. The combination of the excellent location, the luxurious rooms, the great service and the high-quality facilities ensures an unforgettable experience.

If you take a Tangier tourist bus, you will find that this hotel itself is a punch-in attraction. In terms of its historical value, it is worth the price. The hotel has a good view, good health and very good breakfast. This must be praised. One thing is really our trip to Africa. The hotel has a good view, good health and very good breakfast. But one thing happened here, it was the worst and inexplicable of our trip to Africa. We stayed here for two nights. The next night we exchanged $100 in local currency at the front desk. 100 dollars is about 900+ Moroccan Dinham, a female clerk helped us change. Another male in uniform was there throughout the period. She left immediately after us to meet the new guests, and my husband did not put it away after he got it, immediately counted, and counted twice more than 700 dirhams. So we asked the male clerk who had been emptying the whole time, who was nervous and immediately asked the female clerk. She acted incredulously and denied she would count wrong. She turned over the cash in the counter and said the remaining one in the pile, so it must have given us nine (this logic is amazing). I pointed to the overhead monitor and told her: ”We didn't turn around the whole process. You check the monitor. If you have any questions, it's a mistake in your job. Why do you ask yourself?!” The male clerk tried to calm me down, I knew he had done nothing wrong, so stopped the conversation and left. We left Tangier the next day. By the way, if you can see this review through what platform, I want to tell you that the rest of the money in the counter is 8, the other 9. If you are not guarding your own theft, your ability to count is indeed worrying.

The hotel merits the 5 star rating. Excellent all around. Breakfast is worth praising for the selection and quality of the produce. The staff is very attentive to guests' needs and comfort. A word of praise for the assistant floor/reception manager who out of his way to see to it that my stay was pleasant and memorable. Would only advise not to arrange airport pick-up through the hotel. The service will cost more than double that of a regular taxi. Otherwise, and as a seasoned world traveler, I strongly recommend the hotel.

BUT could be much better Facilities are great Cleanliness good Breakfast choice very good, but go early as later on it’s been out too long and items are drying out and curling at the corners Service sometimes excellent ( bar team very good), sometimes indifferent. Didn’t have evening meal so cannot comment. Very poor experience with hotel concierge. Ordered taxi to Ceuta and told it would be two hours because they were providing a ‘special car’, at a special price. 800 instead of normal taxi MAD 500. Turned out it was the concierge relative driving one of a thousand similar taxis. Why make your guest wait 2 hours to line your family pocket? I know it’s Morocco, but it’s a 5 star hotel supposed to be providing 5 star service. I don’t expect to have to be on my guard for being scammed in a hotel like this, it is what you expect if your flagging down a taxi, which we did on another occasion, and received better service from. The last experience from a hotel is your overriding memory, you spoilt ours with a street scam. Otherwise I’d have given 5 star rating.

Nice location close to Tangier Ville the ferry terminal. Walking distance to lots of attractions. Breakfast choice is huge, including all local stuff. Design of room with glass panel between bath and bed is odd as light could affect the other sleeping. Service is good and front desk been very helpful.
