Experience the beauty of the Alaskan outdoors...from inside. Located just north of Fairbanks, the Borealis Basecamp is the perfect Arctic getaway, offering rugged landscapes, first class accommodations and heartfelt Alaskan service, all with the Northern Lights overhead. Founded by one man who decided he wanted to share Alaska's unforgettable scenery, people and adventures with the rest of the world, the camp is miles away from a single light or other person -- a place surrounded completely by nature. The basecamp's transparent ceilinged domes are located on a north facing ridge crest at an altitude of about 1,200. The ceilings wrap around you, blending the outside and inside together, while a sixteen-foot curved window placed directly overhead provides east to north horizon sky visibility. Guests can lay back in bed and be entranced by the dancing northern lights before drifting off to sleep in a luxurious, cozy bed. The domes provide a surprisingly spacious interior, with a kitchenette and full bath located inside, as well as high-level amenities. Guests can enjoy local flavors with a European twist at the locally crafted thirty-foot round yurt on the basecamp. Beyond the amazing food and views, visitors can also enjoy photography, mushing, and snow machine rentals.Show More

Incredible experience! Who knew you could have “well-appointed igloos?” They were comfortable, clean, and perfect for viewing the Northern Lights. The food and service at Latitudes were perfect. Dog-sledding was over the top, and every staff member and guide was not only knowledgeable, but had an interesting story. We loved our stay!

W O W ! My three friends and I stayed in two igloos. We had high expectations, but they were all exceeded by the quality of the service, the AMAZING staff who were there to help us, the food and wine that were stellar, and the guides who led us on fun adventures. I just can't say enough about the perfect location, the very well designed igloos and the sky that glowed at night with those beautiful lights. This is an experience that I will always cherish.

This place is amazing! The staff is friendly and makes the experience more enjoyable as they want you to have a great time! The staff made sure you knew the lights were out and they were beautiful! Latitude 65 is fabulous as every meal we had was excellent, and we left full and satisfied! Highly recommend this place if you want to see the lights and have some outdoor fun in Alaska!

The igloo was very cozy and comfortable It far exceeded our expectations, and we loved staying in it and seeing the lights from the deck and inside our room. The mushers made the dogsledding experience excellent too. We highly recommend a stay at Borealis Basecamp.

What an experience! The lights danced on our second night. Each of the staff were personable. The igloos are unique. Enjoyed the sunset tour on the snowcat. A must is the experience with the dogsled and the pups. Delicious omelettes in the morning. As this is a small venue, we had chances to meet other visitors and hear stories from the staff.

Our private guided trip to the Arctic Circle was even better than we imagined. Our guide, Janey, was excellent. Full of knowledge about the entire trip and I felt instantly at ease with her. I was apprehensive about going as my brain was tending to focus on Ice Trucker show horrors. Janey used to drive semi trucks on the Dalton Highway for many years so, needless to say, she knows what she’s doing. Highly recommend this adventure from Borealis Basecamp!!

Amazing unique place to stay! We had a fabulous two day three night experience. The staff was fantastic! Very helpful and made sure we were awake to see the "Big Show" on 1 of our 3 nights. We also enjoyed all their activities-very fun and informative!

Magical. Surreal. Welcoming. From the moment you arrive in Fairbanks you are treated like gold. The staff is amazing. Rose was wonderful and made breakfast such a warm experience. Cubes are completely dialed in for a family of three. Activities are so well managed and all the teams were just wonderful with our eight year old son. Food was amazing. And honestly to any review that states the food was small or overpriced I would argue that it’s actually perfect and what one would expect when traveling abroad and fine dining. We were full each evening. The lights… magical. We traveled 4,600 miles and would do so again. Simply an incredible adventure!

The Borealis Basecamp is one of the best experiences I have had. This was my third stay and it got better each time. The food was some of the best I’ve had in Alaska. My wife and I requested a night dogsledding experience and they arranged it for us. There is nothing that I can say negative. Their staff is the best in the service industry. Thank you for the great time. P.S. Every time we’ve visited weyhaf an opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis. Spectacular!!!!!
