    This hotel tends to leave out important information when making a reservation. I have now had 2 bad experiences here and do not intend to return. The first time I let them slide, but the second time involved my son and that I don't accept. I do not feel they responded appropriately, the manager was rude, customer service has no ability to assist with anything. The first tme they failed to tell me that the parking is down the street, nt connected to the hotel and that you have to park upstairs and take a dirty elevator down to the street and then walk up the street to the hotel. The second incident, I made a reservation for my son to spend the night there to get some work done and an important interview. I told them he was a college student and never did they mention any issue that he needed to be 21. My son arrived and they refused to let him check in, he called me, I had to send an email guaranteeing responsibility, I had to send a photo of my license. They had my son fill out paperwork, then he offered to show them a negative Covid test and they insisted he email it to them. The problem with this is the they cited IL law about the age, however, IL law clearly states that Active Military and college students under 18 can check into a hotel. Also, HIPAA laws prohibit the emailing of medical information, yet my son was forced to do that. We won't be staying here again. I do not recommend this hotel.

    Based on my recent stay of 4 nights, the good: the location. Walking distance to the Northwestern University campus, the train to the Loop and other Chicago attractions, the lake, and the shops of downtown Evanston. I had a south-facing room and appreciated the view of the Chicago skyline and lake. The staff at the front desk was helpful when I wanted to make some changes in my reservation The bad: I can't believe that a recently-remodeled facility has such terrible handicapped access. When my Uber dropped me off, I though I'd be left at some secondary entrance. There was a self-serve type of lift that would be beneficial for someone in a wheelchair, but I wasn't sure that I should use it as an able-bodied person, so it was up about 8 stairs with my suitcase. There is also access from the attached parking ramp, but one of the automatic doors wasn't working. As others have mentioned, the parking facility is dated, with a fairly steep entrance/exit. My room was on the 11th floor. The water pressure left something to be desired and the shower never got as hot as I would have liked. The ugly: although the room has been updated, it had a musty smell and the carpet felt sort of dirty when I knelt down to the use the room safe. There were stains and possibly mold behind the window valance, noticeable when I was seated in the upholstered chair and happened to glance up.

    It has been over a year since our last stay and we miss it! Still same great staff, friendly and accommodating as always. The hotel still feels new, our room was comfortable and loved having the extra space this time with the kitchenette and living room to be able to do some work and watch TV. I did notice there's a small tear in the window shade that I forgot to tell them about, but all in all, the room is in great shape and love the big shower! I am happy they still have hot tea/coffee available. We didn't get up in time for breakfast but it's nice they still offer it as well. The valet staff was super nice and they accidentally left their phone in my car upon checkout but I didn't realize it until halfway home! I called to let them know and mailed it back. It's also a great location to walk around and eat/shop at our favorite places.
