Hotel cost is very high! The rooms are large and tidy and the basic facilities are available. The location is also very good, with the train station squatting, 1 minute walk to the 😂 Although close to the train station, but also very quiet, 15-20 minutes walk from the downtown area. Service attitude is also very good, very good hotel嗷

Wonderfully situated hotel, on top of a hill overlooking Braga, right next to the beautiful Bom Jesus do Monte church and its magnificent Baroque stairway. There is (limited) free parking right in front of the building - you will get reimbursed for the 1 Euro you pay at the entrance to the parking lot a bit further down the hill. The hotel is classy yet modern, with a minimalistic and well-kept interior. After a professional (yet somewhat lengthy) check-in by the receptionist, we entered our huge room. The bathroom area is integrated into it in a way that might make it a bit difficult for people seeking privacy, but for us it worked perfectly fine. The bed was large and comfy, the quiet surroundings made for a deep and undisturbed sleep (the church bells don’t ring during the night). We appreciated the chic furniture but needed some time to figure out how the many different light switches were connected to the actual lamps. The only real downside was the breakfast: served in a not too inviting room, with unwelcoming staff not caring about COVID rules (allowing some guests to help themselves at the buffet without using the mandatory gloves). The selection of food was also mediocre at best, the quality even worse. A bummer in a hotel which we would otherwise wholeheartedly recommend.

The hotel is very well located on the site of the sanctuary. It can be too well placed because the clocks remind us that they are not very far ...but fortunately they don't sound at night The view of the room is superb (2nd and 3rd photo) Otherwise the hotel is functional though a little old, The hotel is quiet and no noise has disturbed us. Fruit is fresh, of course we are not in France and the growing people think more of bricks than we would have in Vienna

The hotel Lamacaes was great! Only the breakfast could be a little more elaborate, with eggs, but it's already pretty good. The positive difference is that they offer free water, tea and coffee throughout the day! The reception staff is very kind and it is super close to the University of Minho. If you can go on foot. There are 'great restaurants' practically next to the hotel. I recommend Forever for francesinhas!

All came different from planned. Initially Famalicao was planned to be the centre of football games and the surrounding cities like Braga, Barcelos or Guimaraes, as well as the Douro Valley, at the end I spent a week with Corona in this hotel. Here I can very much praise the hotel staff who could give me good recommendations for pharmacies and testing sites. Fortunately, there is a large supermarket next to the hotel. The hotel is located directly opposite the football stadium of FC Famalicao. I could look directly from the room to the stadium. The hotel is still very new and the rooms were excellently isolated to the walk and the neighbouring rooms, a huge quality feature in my opinion. The bathroom was also very modern with rainforest shower. Unfortunately, breakfast (which can be taken normally in Portugal because of lack of isolation) did not convince me. There was exactly the same every day, but fortunately I didn't have so much hunger. Free tea or coffee can be taken all day at the tea bar.

After we parked in the large public car park close to the hotel (special rates for guests) we checked into very clean and comfortable rooms after a complimentary coffee in the lobby. The location is central and the staff friendly and helpful, especially the charming girl on night duty who had lived in Dublin for a year. A quiet hotel, the only nuisance was a rythmic noise at 8 AM which sounded like drumming from the street but which of course is not the fault of the Hotel. Only stayed one night as there were no vacancies on the following day Saturday.
