Our stay was a disappointment from start to finish, apart from the breakfast. The many good reviews tempted us to choose this hotel and also recommend it to our friends, which turned out to be a mistake. Our rooms were both old and worn, with furniture from another decade. The website gave the impression, that the rooms should have air conditioning, which would have been essential on a hot summer day with 30°C, but unfortunately only the rooms facing the street (like our friends') had this convenience. We, on the other hand, had to make do with an old fan. The rooms are equipped with hand/body wash at most; in our room, there was hand/body wash at the sink and in the bath/shower, and in the other room (family room), there was only one soap in the shower. A tiny sticker on our mirror indicating that additional amenities could be picked up at reception. The tiles in our bathroom were partially damaged, and the floor was very slippery, bathtub was far too high for older people or small children. It must be said, that this hotel charges very high prices, especially for the family rooms, but offers a standard similar to that of a youth hostel. A visit to the very chic restaurant in the evening also left a lasting, bad impression. While the decor was lavish, both the service and the food in no way justified the prices. A real shame!
