It was a very happy stay. The hotel is located in a small town near San Francisco. The town is quiet and beautiful. You can see the coastline in the distance outside the hotel window. There are many beautiful shops near the hotel. It is a good place for food, accommodation and shopping.

When my wife and I checked in, the woman at the front desk completely ignored my wife. Didn’t greet her, or acknowledge her at all. Every word the employee said was to me only, no eye contact to my wife, nothing. It made her feel invisible and unwelcome. This had a sustained affect on my wife during her stay. It’s unacceptable. I am white. She is black. We can’t help but feel that this had something to do with, so I am speaking up with this review. Not okay.

Pros: The staff was very friendly, rooms were large and clean, there was a nice gym, the parking in the back was frequently patrolled by security. The breakfast wasn't bad.
Cons: The beds were so so in comfort. The room faced the train tracks making the trains passing throughout the night a little noisy. The parking was limited so i had to park in an overflow lot at the mall across the street. It was peculiar that there was no heat lamp or fan in the bathroom.

The customer service desk check in was the worst experience I have ever had in my 43 years of traveling. The reception was lukewarm, basically cold. The issue of our stay caused a conflict regarding a pet. The manager and front desk was unprofessionally handled by the manager. I was appalled at his inability to have any understanding or compassion regarding an emotional support pet that literally weighs 2lbs. His lack of customer service skills were reflected in how his staff spoke to me. I will never stay at a Hyatt hotel again, most importantly this hotel which I have been staying at whenever visiting Oakland.
