We had a renovated deluxe room, that might explain some differences with other people's experiences. And were positively surprised, except for the dinner restaurant ( see separate review). Actually this renovated room was real 4 stars, and better than our average Fletcher hotel experience. Twice as large as the standard room for 50% extra price, basically a mini-suite. Separate sitting area with desk and sofa, bathroom with separate tub and shower (all a bit crammed) and in the other half of the room a separate WC. Nice bed, balcony, good WiFi. Pool was surprisingly good and big for a hotel, also free sauna. Decent breakfast, more 3 than 4 stars in variety; and a bit slow in refills. The estate grounds are already very nicely landscaped but the walks in the nearby Veluwezoom reserve are stunning. The room had a small drawbacks though: no hooks etc. to put the towels, and nice shower gel and shampoo supplied but absolutely nothing in terms of soap, neither liquid or concrete. We did not complain, otherwise probably they would have fixed that.

The hotel is perfectly located next to the Central Station and at the edge of the shopping centre. In the lobby you can work and take a cup of free tea or coffee. The staff is young and informal. The rooms are not large, but a good bed and bathroom. Unfortunately, we find the death sin for each hotel room: a bottle of gliding from previous guests under the bed. Although the room was not dirty, this is of course a point of attention.

Just a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity

The layout of the room we stayed in was very unreasonable. It looked quite big. There was no place to let go. After two days of heating, the heating was not warm. They responded to the front desk of four shifts. Everyone’s attitude was not bad. No one has solved the problem, and some people have said to me, ”I don't feel cold, how can you be cold?”... You are Iron Man, I am probably a normal human, because I feel cold at 4 degrees...

The view of the hotel is absolutely perfect, all rooms can see the Rhine There is not much luggage to get out of the train station, a straight line will arrive, and the Rhine can be seen along the road. Arnhem doesn't have Uber, but buses are also very frequent. The hotel sign is very clear and can be found using the navigation that comes with Apple. The most important thing is that the hotel's service attitude is very good, English is also very good, and the girl is also beautiful. But the elevators are old, and every stop and every one is scary.

Had a single room for three nights in June. The weather was warm and sunny. Overall, I did not expect much from the hotel, as such it met or exceeded my expectations. The good points. o Close to walking trials and the great outdoors o Breakfast. There breakfast is hands down SUPER. o Had a disproportionally large bathroom compared to the bedroom. It was nice but seemed awkward but a good awkward o the room, furnishing and bathroom were modern. The bathroom had definitely seen an update o plenty of free parking Things to improve o the bathroom had a balcony (which was nice) but on the balcony there were cigarette butts. As a non smoker I can not stand this, but what it made it worse is that you have to question the cleaning staff if they don't clean that up. What else is getting missed o Single bed, was like for a very skinny person, not horrible kind of small o One Shampoo for 3 days, no refills. I think they could replenish the shampoo given it was for both shower and hand washing. o Dinner, had it once. It was okay but not 35 euros good for fish and chips and one beer.

Let me start off by saying: if you are looking for a nice area for walking and cycling, this hotel may be worth it. The surrounding woods are quite nice. Other than that, don't expect much. As others have already mentioned, it's not a typical hotel but more of an outdated holiday resort. It's not even close to being worth 4 stars. There are two rooms per building, using the same main entrance, and you have to pay extra if you want the ground level room - which is apparently also the only one with a kettle and coffee machine. The stairs to the first-floor hotel room are quite steep and not accessible to everyone. The vibe it gave was 'sleeping over in your 70-year-old uncle/grandpa's attic'. The rooms are very old-fashioned, with no clock, an old radio you can't plug in because of the lack of outlets, and a bit of a musty smell. The 'two-person bed' is just two single beds pushed together, so if you want to be intimate with your partner or just sleep close together you will most definitely end up in the gap in between. The beds don't sleep great, either. There is no airconditioning so it gets quite hot in the summer with no way of cooling down, and the wifi is not too stable. There is also some mould in the shower, as well as rust, and the window in the bathroom does not open. The toilet sometimes refused to flush properly. Breakfast was standard, don't expect any vegan options except for bread and peanut butter. You are allowed to take some stuff for lunch, though, which is nice. There is no fridge in your room however, so keeping things cool is not an option. Also bring your own cutlery, plate & cup if you plan on buying breakfast/lunch at a local supermarket, because the room only comes with two plastic-lined paper cups. There is only one vegetarian main course on the restaurant menu, but the chef was very kind and made the vegetarian lunch options dinner-sized for us. Vegan would definitely be impossible, though. The restaurant and pool are also not that easily accessible for people in a wheelchair or with a walking impairment. Definitely get some sort of voucher or discount deal, otherwise the prices are way too high for what you get. You're not allowed to order food from Thuisbezorgd etc. The pool is... well, it's not much. It's small but barely anyone goes for a swim there, so chances are you will have it all to yourself. Bring something like a diving game or a ball if you want to have anything fun to do. The showers don't really work and half of them only have cold water. There is a tennis court but it will cost about 12 euros per hour to use it, and the 'sports fields' that are on the map they give you have become overgrown and cannot be used. You're not allowed to park your bike next to/close to your building but there is an old shed-like building in which you can store your bike. Fantastic hotel. Excellent location for motorway, Arnhem and neighbouring villages. Beautiful woodland setting. Lovely staff Superb room, spacious with super bathroom and access to balcony . Wonderful breakfast which is very good value. Restaurant a little overpriced. Dog friendly.

The sports theme is everywhere in this hotel and it's great to see, a nice change from all the anonymous hotels out there. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was fantastic and I would strongly recommend it if you're staying here, though there is a bit of a walk from the rooms to the restaurant. Parking very close to the hotel entrance outside was free, with plenty of space. The hotel appears to be in a calm and beautiful area. Unfortunately, the booked rooms did not match what we received when we arrived. Even though a suite was included in the booking - and pre-paid for - we only received normal twin rooms. Upon raising this with the front desk and asking for a partial refund they promised to get back to me via e-mail, which they never did. I raised the issue with the booking agent who also contacted the property, but they refused to refund the partial cost. I'm afraid this cast a shadow on an otherwise pleasant stay and I'm upset that the hotel was not be willing to compensate for their mistake, even just the cost difference.
