Hotels near San Luis Garden, El Chaparral

Cette maison est simplement sublime. Tout d’abord, le chemin de citronniers et d’orangers pour y arriver: simplement fascinant. Ensuite, cette maison, immense et son sublime portail se dressent devant vous, telle une oasis. Tout est décoré avec goût, on sent l’amour que Lien et Rick, les propriétaires, ont mis dans chaque détail. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables, la literie quant à elle est simplement magique! Enfin, l’accueil est sublime! Personnalisé, passionné… on se sent habitant de la maison nous aussi. Lien et Rick sont adorables tout en étant très professionnels. Ils parlent à eux deux plusieurs langues, y compris le français. Je recommande vivement ce petit coin de paradis!

I'm lukewarm regarding this hotel. When I got there, the room had no minibar (it was broken), so I spent around 10/15 asking for them to switch me to a room with a minibar - honestly, middle of the summer in Spain, not having a minibar is not negotiable. They did change me, but I had to insist a lot for something that was already included in the rate I booked. Aside from that, the hotel itself was great. The room was very spacious, it was 2 blocks away from the main street, and there were countless bars and supermarkets to get what we needed. The hotel includes parking for 18eur per night - if you have a car, I would recommend paying, because streets are very narrow in Torrevieja. The breakfast buffet was good - a bit meager for the price, but it was better than having to eat out every day. I would definitely pay for it again. I'm not sure about other reviews - I didn't have any issues with the A/C or anything else. I would recommend it over other hotels in the area, for sure.

Where do I start. This hotel's main concern is making money because customer service is right at the bottom. First thing when we walk through the door is the lock literally falls off and is broken, the phone doesn't even work so we can't call for help and my mother had to make 5 trips to the receptionist to get someone to fix it. You would have thought they would change rooms and fix the door in their time well no. Secondly how on earth does a hotel AC only go down to 22. It took the staff 3 days to manually override it which apparently can only be done by the manger that was never there. The cleaners come into your room when they feel like even if you put do not disturb . I was in the bedroom in my underwear and we heard a knock and 3 seconds later here is the cleaner coming into our room while I'm still on the bed. Cleaners talk Infront of your rooms loudly at 9am like we ain't in holiday trying to sleep and rest. They don't clean anything just change the bins and towels. They don't have any information about the restaurant time or roof bar. Beautiful view but the food is awful in the restaurant and at the pool. Cocktails are not fresh unless they open a new bottle otherwise it is flat and not up to the standard of a 4 star as I was rudely told by the staff. Once we complained we were then told the manger would get back to us but didn't after emailing I was told by the manger ”In the end it turned” and ”We do not make refunds partial or total, so you can take your complaint where it deems appropriate.”

We stayed here for 21 days from 13 September. I have no negative criticism, only positive. It’s a fantastic hotel. The location is perfect. It’s in the middle of town, five minutes walk from the beach and across the road from a great supermarket. Lots of bars and cafes nearby. We stayed in room 209 and the young lady who looked after our room every day was lovely. Our room was kept spotless. The hotel is also spotlessly clean. It’s worth mentioning the solarium on the roof of the hotel - lots of loungers and lots of sun. The staff are all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We plan to come back again next year. The room was very acceptable except the beds were basic and quite hard. The pillows were of poor quality . We had a view , but unfortunately it was of the desalination plant opposite. Air- Con very good . Safe in room free and worked well Breakfast was extremely poor and bland . No fresh fruit the first three days - only tinned . Then only melon and banana , next day kiwi !! A treat !! Considering the area we are in we found that hard to understand. No omelettes just fried eggs. One day actually started cooking my own as the chef was no where to be seen . Pre cooked scrambled eggs - there for the whole service . Bacon and sausages swimming in grease . Hard boiled also available. A selection of of sliced bread , no rolls etc . I think you get the picture. Coffee machines were good . Selection of various coffees , hot water and milk. When we got here the hotel was extremely busy. Wedding on the Saturday. Outside area /pool was cordoned off to “hotel guests” On the Sunday still busy , again “outsiders” came in for a child’s confirmation and pool party , so wasn’t again available for residents . My biggest disappointment was how ever after using the outside pool for nearly 4 days , I was told it was closed until July !! It was cordoned off . I complained and was told the pool had been closed all the time , they had no knowledge of the other use and if I wish to use it “that was my responsibility “ . we had to use towels from the room The Spa was “free” and part of the deal and I have to say was the highlight of the stay. Although the other reviews were spot on it’s in no doubt in decline . The area is rusty , the walls plaster and paint coming off . Being salt water and hot it needs constant maintenance I guess - clearly still not getting it . After Monday the hotel was extremely quite. The staff focus on service is non existent- no eye contact always looking at computer screens and no care or answers to enquiries. We didn’t eat in the hotel - not sure anything was available to be honest. There was no bar person except if you pressed a bell . The Hotel is situated as well we knew , right on the outskirts of town , but there are a few places to eat out locally ( rose Indian restaurant) the very best . There is also a “petrol station “ across the road that serves good food , beer and coffee . I know doesn’t sound great but worth a pit stop ( very nice people) . The walk into town is a brisk 20 minutes. As with many Hotels it could be great with the nature environment and beauty but it seems that there is no will and desire to be so .The management have lost their focus. I would come back to the area , but certainly wouldn’t come back to this tired, uninspiring place and quite frankly I’m not sure they cared if I did or not .

I'm trying to work out the target customers for this hotel due to its location. It's out of the town (Santa Pola), situated next to the N-332 (busy north-south coast road), and on the edge of a retail park. As a result it has no room for facilities (outdoor pool, tennis courts, etc.) although it's new so everything is up to date. Rooms have a large balcony which I guess would be nice in summer. That's about it. Even the bar is a solitary tap in the hotel lobby - no separate area. Breakfast was standard but no complaints. The retail park has various eating and drinking places - KFC, Burger King, other burger places, various bars - but I didn't find a real Spanish one. Quite a lot were closed as it was out of season. For those familiar with the UK I thought it was very like a Premier Inn or Travelodge and a 4* rating is misleading. I'm thinking it's really an airport hotel so not for a long stay.
