This simple property is exactly like in the pictures. Cute, somewhat quirky, and convenient to the Main Street of El Calafate with shopping and eating within a couple of blocks. The gentleman at the front desk was particularly helpful, the woman less so. Both were friendly though.

Such a little gem of a property in El Calafate with welcoming hosts. Location was perfect and right off the main street of Avenida Del Libertador. The hotel has a family feeling to it and the breakfast in the mornings was great. If it's an option, I suggest paying the extra money for it. I will definitely be visiting this property again. Thank You!

Great boutique Hotel. It was charming, and the staff was lovely. Except that it didn’t have air-conditioning. Still give it a 5/5. Breakfast was great.

Great place to stay. Staff were very helpful in accommodating us, booking taxis, recommending places to go for dinner, etc. They serve a great breakfast, with different fancy pastries from the bakery across the street every day. After checkout we were able to store our luggage for most of the day while we waited for our late flight home. Great location - 2 blocks from downtown, and a 15 minute walk from Reserva Laguna Nimez, which is a great place to go birdwatching.

We booked through ********** for $180/night, but our credit card was charged $207/night - when we challenged this at check in we were told there was a 15% credit card fee and to take it up with **********. Obviously that wasn't mentioned prior to being charged (and is illegal when booking on the UK version of **********). It was also charged in US$ rather than Pesos, which I don't think is allowed in Argentina, and obviously has implications for the customer. The room was small but OK. Apart from the payment issues the staff were helpful, breakfast was OK and the location is good. On street parking (free) is available immediately outside. Only other quirk was that they wanted the room keys leaving at reception when we went out - we came back once to find our room key in the door of our room, which obviously isn't secure!

The rooms are a bit small, but clean and comfortable for me. One can hear the noise from the corridors if that’s an issue for some travelers. The owners are friendly and very helpful with tips for the area. The breakfast was fresh and nice. Overall a good experience!

We loved our stay at Madre Tierra! Mariano, the owner is a hands on owner! Not only will he and his staff ensure you feel right at home and safe, he is also super knowledgeable about Calafate, and offers services to take you trekking, to the glaciers and many more adventures! Make sure to ask to reach out ahead of your stay to ask about these guided adventures. The hotel itself is also amazing! Very clean, spacious and the rooms are very comfortable. Make sure to book your stay with breakfast included, you won’t regret it! When we go back to Calafate we will make sure to stay at Madre Tierra.

We love this cozy place!!! We enjoyed the room, shower, breakfast and the great company of the staff. A little heaven in the southern tip of the world.
