Superb pub with rooms. A warm and hearty welcome after a long day’s walking. Friendly staff and a lovely comfortable room. Tea was delicious and breakfast the next morning excellent. Would highly recommend. A lovely pub in a beautiful location.

We stayed in the apartment above the pub, it was lovely warm and very comfortable, it immaculate throughout. Shame the pub wasn't open for food, but we had pizza's at the Baa across the road, which were very good! Would definitely recommend the apartment.

We had a brilliant stay here. Lovely welcome for us and our old dog Dora. The room was great - warm and spotlessly clean. Complimentary teas, coffees, mineral water and biscuits. We had a great evening meal in the restaurant and a huge breakfast all of which was tasty and cooked well. Dora had biscuits and her own sausage breakfast; lovely to have a proper dog friendly place. The village is peaceful and the surrounding countryside is beautiful with abundant rabbits, grouse, lapwing and even a barn owl. Derwent Arms and Edmundbyers we will be back.

We arrived with our two dogs mid afternoon to a warm welcome. After checking in we settled in to our very comfy en-suite bedroom. The Derwent Arms is in the delightful village of Edmundbyers and is in close proximity to Derwent Reservoir, Blanchland, Slaley Forest and scenic walks on the hills. Our dinner was exceptional which was well prepared and presented. Breakfast was equally good and our dogs were treated to some sausages. The hospitality was very warm and the owners were very helpful.

One of the friendliest welcomes on arrival. Beautiful old coaching inn with subtle modern touches. Warm and cosy fires with comfortable seating. Food quality and choices excellent. Pricing very good. Bedroom had everything we needed and bed/pillows were very comfy. Large clean bathroom with plenty hot water. Really warm room with lovely view. Excellent location-get out and explore. Villagers very friendly when we happened on the church fete. Will definately stay again.

We had a lovely stay at the Derwent Arms this week during a work trip to Northumberland. The staff were so kind and even stayed late to feed us as we couldn’t check in till after 8pm. Really cosy little place with comfortable beds and a great shower. I wasn’t well and couldn’t manage breakfast but my colleague’s breakfast looked so nice! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

Very warm welcome on arrival and our apartment was ready which was very nice and big. We didn’t realise that the pub bar and restaurant was closed on Monday & Tuesday from 1st Oct which was disappointing as the food was very good and reasonable prices. Lots of restaurants seem to close Monday / Tuesday so if you are planning on going you will have to travel for a meal. Would definitely recommend The Derwent Arms.
