When we first arrived at this hotel I was pleasantly surprised with how lovely the hotel was due to the reviews I’d read previously, the pool was great and our room was lovely, however, the staff weren’t friendly what so ever. Not all of them, but majority. On the first day we ordered a couple of bottles of prosseco whilst we sat around the pool, and because this isn’t an all inclusive hotel the easiest option was to charge everything to the room. Which we done a lot of the time. One of the waiters who served us towards the end of the day, made a huge effort with pouring our drinks and getting us in holiday spirit, which quickly changed when he realised there was no tip at the end, we told him 3 times that we didn’t want the fuss because we didn’t have cash for a tip. He ignored us and continued. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and for the rest of our stay this waiter made us feel so uncomfortable, he completely ignored us in the evening when he was serving which made it very difficult for us to get a drink, constantly giving us dirty looks. He didn’t even make eye contact with us. We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were later explained that being tipped in Albania is a huge deal and considered rude if not, which we were completely unaware of however after finding that information out we tipped everytime! I still do not appreciate how this waiter made us feel in the short time we were there. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.
