This review is relatively objective being my 20th road trip, this year encompassing 17 properties over a 43 night period. I stayed 3 nights solo in April. Easily found just outside of Dullstroom and its shops/restaurants. A real old school property that has been well maintained and sympathetically brought up to date without losing any of its undoubted charm and character. Friendly, professional and efficient staff throughout. My chalet, with an unobstructed view across the valley to the mountains, was large, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Excellent quality bed linen and towels. The fireplace on the cool evenings was especially warming, literally and for the soul! Excellent old school public areas, bar and restaurants with plenty of fireplaces. Think linen table cloths in the main restaurant. The terrace restaurant provided a less formal ambience. Food was excellent in quality throughout. Breakfast was taken outside overlooking a pool in the early morning sunshine - very, very pleasant. I hired a mountain bike to tour the whole property, which was interesting. However, the bike itself did need some serious maintenance on the brakes - almost non existent on downward slopes - tricky! I also walked up to the hilltop viewpoint. The well maintained path was paved most of the way, which made it much safer during periods of inclement weather. All of this comes at a price, but does provide value for money.
