MD Hotel by Gewan Formerly Cassells

Al Barsha Dubai|0.3km from Ski Dubai
I recently had the pleasure of staying at MD Hotel by Gewan Dubai, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. First and foremost, the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. From the lobby to the rooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The level of service provided by the hotel staff was exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Whether it was room service, housekeeping, or front desk support, they consistently exceeded my expectations. The hotel's location is also worth highlighting. Situated in the heart of Dubai, it offered convenient access to various attractions, shopping centers, and dining options. Additionally, the proximity to public transportation made exploring the city a breeze. The room I stayed in was spacious and elegantly decorated, providing a perfect sanctuary after a long day of sightseeing. The amenities provided were top-notch, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Furthermore, the hotel's dining options were fantastic. The on-site restaurant served delicious dishes with a diverse menu, catering to different palates. In summary, I highly recommend MD Hotel by Gewan Dubai to anyone looking for a clean, well-serviced, and centrally-located accommodation in Dubai. The combination of excellent cleanliness, top-notch service, and convenient location made my stay truly memorable. I would gladly return for another visit in the future.

Ibis Mall of The Emirates Dubai

Our stay at the Ibis was fine. This is our 130th hotel stay this year and among our least favorite experiences. First, it is very clean, so don’t worry about that. But a clean bed and room is all you can expect. Things we didn’t enjoy: -Breakfast is a chaotic cluster. No staff were seating guests. People were sprawled out across the Ibis and adjoining Novotel. It is difficult to find staff to clean off a table or provide new cutlery. The food is fine, but the coffee is horrible. - We were told the room included tea and coffee. When we checked in we notified the front desk we had no coffee and would like some. They told us someone would bring it, but it never arrived. The same thing happened the second day. The third day we asked cleaning staff if they have coffee. They told us they were out and only had decaf. They did provide decaf, but regular coffee should have been available. -The shower is extremely slippery. The shower drain is raised to prevent hair and product from clogging it. But that means people are standing in .5” of water the entire time they are showering. The smooth tiles are extremely slippery when covered in standing water. I’m a 36 year old agile, athletic person. I fell, hitting my knee and face on the tile. There are no grippy mats to reduce slipping. There are no handles to get up from in the shower. - After falling, I asked for a hand towel to wash my face. I was told “we don’t offer hand towels on THIS SIDE of the hotel. Only the Novotel side gets hand towels.” It’s very weird to make people feel lesser than others over hand towels. 🤷♀️ Other small weird stuff: - There are ZERO outlets by the bed. You have to charge all electronics, including your phone, across the room. - The faucet barely hangs over the sink. When you wash your hands, they are against the side of the bowl, and water will run out on the counter. It’s like the designer never used the sink. - They have chosen a strange press soap bottle. It breaks off from the wall daily. -Aside from soap, no basic toiletries are provided. (no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion.) Overall, this place is cheaper than others, but it still costs too much to have this many issues.

Hotel was east to get and close to Mashreq metro station. Soon as you walk in you can tell it’s a nice hotel. The check was quick, room was clean and large size. Hotel staff were very helpful and informative about breakfast and dining options. Breakfast was good value for money. Lots of options to choose from with live egg station to have what ever way you want your eggs cooked. Fried, boiled, poached, scrambled, omelette with different toppings. Only downside was there was an event on at the pool. So we couldn’t use it. They said we could enter the event but needed to pay 100 aed (£22). If not then need to go to other small pool. But was a good stay.

I have been traveling alone for more than half a month. The facilities are complete in all aspects. There are washing machines and kitchens with kitchenware. All aspects are good and the service is OK.

The golden tulip does the job. The best thing about this hotel is that it is located near Mashreq station for easy access to the main spots in Dubai. The breakfast is average and the rooms are comfortable.

Away from the quiet area of the tour group, close to the subway, the suite is oversized, the kitchen washing machine is fully equipped, and the service is very good. The shortage is that there is no supermarket nearby, and it is necessary to go to the Mall of the Emirates outside the subway. In addition, the Indian girl at the front desk had a good attitude, but the business was not familiar. The check-in was very slow. The credit card was confirmed several times back and forth, which was inexplicable.
Rose Park Hotel - Al Barsha, Opposite Metro Station

The first impression is not very good, it feels like a hostel or hotel, it is not the quality of a four-star hotel in Hong Kong at all, and it is a bit different from expectations. There are not many breakfast options and the taste is not very good. It is not recommended to add. The best thing is the fried rice column ! If you want to have breakfast at the hotel, it is recommended to add money immediately after arriving at the hotel, because it is cheaper than online booking. Staying for a few days is actually acceptable, it is good to be able to take a bath and sleep. If you don't have particularly big expectations for the hotel, like me, I think the hotel is a place to take a bath and sleep, it is actually not bad. The biggest advantage is that it is located opposite the subway station, and it is very convenient to take the subway to different tourist attractions!

More about Dubai

Introduction to Dubai: A Confluence of Traditions and Futurism

Located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south west corner of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Known for its opulent architecture, luxury shopping and vibrant nightlife, Dubai offers an irresistible blend of traditional Arabic culture and futuristic innovation. This city is home to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, and it boasts an artificial island in the shape of a palm tree, the Palm Jumeirah!

Tips for Travelling to Dubai

Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, serves as the primary gateway to the city. The Dubai Metro, taxis, and ride-hailing services like Uber are commonly used to navigate the city.

Visa policies vary depending on nationality, so travellers are advised to check the UAE embassy website in their respective countries. Credit cards are widely accepted and the official language is Arabic, but English is commonly used, especially in business and by the large expatriate population.

As for traditions, remember that the UAE is a Muslim country and visitors should dress modestly in public. Also, the consumption of alcohol is regulated and is typically only allowed within licensed venues.

Unforgettable Attractions in Dubai

Dubai's iconic skyline is dominated by architectural marvels like the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. Shoppers will find their paradise in the Dubai Mall and the traditional Gold and Spice Souks. For a dose of culture, one can visit the Dubai Museum, Al Fahidi Historic District or the stunning Jumeirah Mosque. The adventurous can explore the vast Arabian Desert on a safari.

Weather in Dubai and the Best Time to Visit

Dubai has a hot desert climate with extremely hot summers (June to September) with temperatures frequently reaching 41°C (105°F), and warm winters (December to March) averaging 24°C (75°F). The most comfortable time to visit is from November to April.

As for clothing, light, breathable fabrics are recommended due to the heat. However, it's also wise to carry a light jacket or shawl, as indoor areas can be heavily air-conditioned.

Selecting the Right Hotel in Dubai

Dubai's hotels are as varied and impressive as its skyline. To stay near main attractions, consider the Armani Hotel inside the Burj Khalifa.

For a food-centric stay, Pierchic offers gourmet dining and is located near various eateries.

For luxury accommodation, the Burj Al Arab is an iconic choice, while budget travellers can consider Rove Downtown, which offers great value.

Business travellers might appreciate the convenient location of Dusit Thani near the business district. Atlantis The Palm offers highly Instagrammable views and interiors. Near the airport, the Dubai International Hotel offers convenient and comfortable lodging.
