The friendly staff save this from being a thoroughly unpleasant place to stay the night, but it's a challenge. After the Victorian hotel next door was gutted to house an expensively naff 'Nessie' visitor attraction, the accommodation remaining is a weather-beaten old 1970s annex with all the charm of a Cold War youth hostel. It's clean enough, to be fair, although the slight whiff of damp pooch endures. The boiler works too well, if anything, and the shower will provide water at Hot, Very Hot, Scalding and Aff Tae Infirmary Wi' Ye temperatures; should you want it cooler, the loch is nearby. If this doesn't entirely appeal, and Drumnadrochit's limited charms seem unlikely to detain you for a whole night, Inverness alternatives are not far away.

We spent 2 weeks in Scotland and London and the family agreed The Loch Ness Inn was our favorite hotel and our favorite breakfast. Nice rooms, fantastic food. It's about 10 minute walk a grocery and 20 minutes to 'town'. The Urquhart Castle Ruins is a pleasant walk (just under 2 miles) over a small hill and there's a beautiful park to walk through as well.

My wife & I stayed here for two nights on our grand tour of Scotland. Being a Davidson is what brought me here. But we were both thrilled with our stay. The castle is awesome inside. It's like being transported 400 years in the past, but with all the modern amenities. When we checked in, Charlie couldn't have been more informative and friendly. She gave me a print out of the history of the castle and the key to the Davidson museum. After settling in we went to ”Turrets””, the main dining room. The ambience with the stained glass windows and period furniture was awesome, as was the food. We ate there for breakfast and dinner both days. For dinner I had the lamb shank and the venison, my wife had the steak and ale pie and the fish and chips. After dinner we retired to the Green Lady bar. Dan & Patrick were very friendly and attentive, and gave us great insight into the local area. There was also a young woman at the bar the first night who was very accommodating also. We stayed in the Balcony Four Poster room, which gave us a spectacular view or the town and Cromarty Firth. The room and bath were clean and very comfortable, the bed was very comfortable. The Castle is close to Inverness and Loch Ness and we took advantage with day trips each day. I wish we had booked more days here. It was truly a Magical Stay!

After having two bookings cancelled over the last two years, we finally got to make our trip back to Inverness arriving on the 8th March for two nights as a birthday treat. We were booked on a great package for a two night stay that included breakfast, two course dinner for one night, afternoon tea and a free cocktail at dinner. Check in was easy and we received friendly service from the reception staff, who stored our bags for us until the room was ready, due to us having arrived early on the Caledonian Sleeper train. Our accommodation was in a Royal room which was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy and super king in size. The afternoon tea was quite nice, with tasty sandwiches etc, but the evening meal in our opinion was exceptional, with very attentive service from the restaurant staff. We had the steak (where there was a supplement) and the salmon, which was absolutely piping hot and just so delicious. The crème brûlée for our deserts were also really enjoyable. There were a list of cocktails to choose from, and you could exchange for wine beer or cider if preferred. The hot breakfast the next morning also was delicious, very tasty and well cooked, and mine had gorgeous scrambled eggs. You could help yourself to juices, drinks and buffet offerings like cereals and pastries etc. The staff overall all provide brilliant, friendly and efficient service after what must have been an horrendous two years. One lady in particular that oversees breakfast, provides exceptional service. Yes this hotel is dated, (if I was being really picky then I’d say some furniture needs replacing), but it adds to the character and charm somehow, and we just love it. This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and certainly will again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The best hostel I've stayed ever. Extremely friendly staff (All of them) who will go miles to help me out as I had some booking issues. Rooms were perfect, not too crowded and all the facilities (toilets, beds) are top notch for hostel. Its a hotel-standard hostel. Kudos to the staff for making my stay such a memorable and pleasant one. Thank you!

On the banks of the Inverness River, the parking lot is not very big. When we came back at night, there was no parking space. We were given a place where we could park far away. Anyway, we just passed by for one night. Sky Island didn’t have a reserved room and stayed there This is it, later I found that the scenery of Loch Ness seems to be better. But half an hour to the north, there is a cape where you can see dolphins. It is said that you can see them even if you go there. We waited for more than ten minutes to see two dolphins.

We visited inverness for a short time and we honestly couldn’t of had an easier accommodation experience, the staff are very friendly and attentive to your every need, when we first arrived they upgraded our room for free and let us check in early further more when we wanted breakfast in the morning it only cost us £10 a head and they offer a wide range of breakfast options, when we checked out they also let us keep our bags at the house whilst we spent our last few hours exploring the city. Highly recommend, priced well too.
