IXORA Hotel and Spa

My wife and I stayed at the Ixora from the 7th to 10th April 2025. It was evident this is quite a new hotel. The decor was in excellent condition and it had a definite touch of class. Comfortable room with everything you could expect. We had breakfast every day, but make sure to book and pay the previous day, which is £12.00. Otherwise the price is £15 something. Good choice of food both for breakfast and evening meal. A very enjoyable break away, visiting the local attractions.

It’s ok as it has a gym allowing under 18’s so my child could enjoy as well. The room was quite decent and clean. We enjoyed it very much though the price is a little bit high.

Nice hotel, nice service and beautiful location.

Lazy allergen labelling. Checked allergen menu and ordered a meal accordingly. Advised waiter of allergies upon ordering to be told the meal was made in a factory that contained the allergens and therefore ‘may contain’ the allergens. I pointed out this was the second time their allergen menu had been incorrect and asked for clarification on the may contain - was it labelled on the product or was this a general warning about all foods they provided based on being in the same environment, etc. Waiter confirmed the latter so we asked to proceed. It then became very evident they didn’t want to serve us - first suggesting we shouldnt order full stop and then after we asked to continue with the order, they came to the table another 2 times to repeat the same confusing discussion. Really really poor and all played out in front of a 9 year old who already has enough concerns about her allergies and doesn’t need these type of experiences furthering her anxiety. Incidently we had the same dance with the allergen menu being incorrect for desserts and so gave up at that point. The hotel needs to up its game significantly - properly updating its allergen menu and refining the generic statement so it’s easier for customers with allergies to make an informed choice.
