Buccaneer Beach Club

The BBC is a reasonably priced quaint little piece of paradise. It's a compact resort that is right next door to another resort which thankfully has an onsite restaurant that is decent. This is fairly important because there are not very many quality restaurants in the surrounding area that are nearby. A few days prior to our arrival I was concerned that we had made a mistake in selecting this place because I saw a couple very negative reviews on TA. I emailed the onsite manager to ask about these reviews and Leonard responded very promptly and did a good job answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I don't think these negative reviews provided an accurate picture of this resort. We stayed in a garden villa that was only steps away from the beach and the pool. While not luxurious, our villa was very comfortable and clean. The kitchenette was nice to have and allowed us the option to pick up some simple items for breakfast and lunch from a small grocery shop that was about a block away. The staff here is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They keep the grounds looking very nice....lots of flora and fauna in the small garden area that comprises the property. The pool does get a few feathers and leaves from the trees on the property next door and the birds that are in the area but the staff did a decent job of keeping the pool clean. I had no issues swimming in the pool when I opted for that rather than the ocean. The beach area for the resort is on the small side but it's adequate and we never had a problem securing a couple chaise lounges while we were there. One slight annoyance is that there is a constant parade of people that walk through the area on their way to and from wherever they happen to be going but if you enjoy "people watching" it's not that big of a problem. All in all we very much liked the charm of the place and we were not at all disappointed in our stay at the Buccaneer!

A small resort of 18 apartments with its own pool and private area of beach, less than 30 seconds walk away! The apartments are roomy, very comfortable with a fully fitted kitchenette (all units are all being renovated currently, ready start of October). The staff are simply amazing and the service is fantastic. From the manager, to the reception team and the outdoor crew who look after the pool, garden and beach area, they treat you all like family and will care for your every need. The only disappointment we had was that we had to leave at the end of our holiday! If you're looking for sheer peace and relaxation, look no further as this place is perfect. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back.

Most divine beach I’ve ever seen. Always chairs available. Pool very hot. Outdoor maintenance staff were very good. Room a large size. Unfortunately there were at least 15 long black hairs on my floors from the time I arrived. Not mine! The project to replace screens / shutters with glass windows that gets mentioned in many responses by the property hasn’t been completed on any of the 16 rooms, only the two front cottages appear to have glass so far. I did arrive at 1pm and was told I’d be given the next available room regardless of which it was (I think they are all the same). Whatever was cleaned and ready first. After sitting in the heat for two hours I came back to reception to wait some more. In that time I did pay $10 for my washing so I had been waiting with three bags of wet clothes. At 3.30pm a couple arrived to check in and they were immediately taken to a room (near the laundry, not a cottage at the beachfront) with their bags. I waited a bit more. Housekeeping had been cleaning what ended up being my room, the whole time I was waiting by the pool then in reception. Finally my room was ready after 3.30pm. Not sure why I wasn’t given the other room given what the receptionist had said. It wasn’t the best start to my stay. To have a marked bedspread and so many hairs after at least two hours of preparation was disappointing.

Right next to Siboney Resort, you will find this quaint and restful little gem. We stayed here in April 2024. It is beachside in Dickenson Bay and tucked in by Salt Plage (a great restaurant). It is comprised of 4 two story apartment buildings that house 4 apartments. Our room was very clean with small kitchen facility, king size bedroom, great AC, and a small living room. Each apartment had a porch with table to sit out at. All apartments face the pool - which was always well maintained. The grounds are spotless and very well kept. Oscar, the grounds and beach attendant, was very attentive. He kept the beach raked and clean and was always asking if everything was to our liking. Leonard, the manager was always out checking to make sure everyone was taken care of. Oscar also helped us change a flat tire (with a smile)! We liked the fact that you had to have a fob to get into the gate at both sides of the property. The beach was easy access, walk out the gate and you are there. It's gorgeous. We will be back.

welcoming staff, immaculate property, soft sand beach with gentle waves, nicely appointed one bedroom suites with kitchens and porch or balcony. Happy hard working staff treated us like favourite family members. Never a problem to get an umbrella with beach chairs. We used the grocery delivery service before we arrived and one night reserved the BarBQ. The only improvement I would suggest is the addition of a bin for recycling in the kitchen. We are used to separating recyclable materials from garbage, I hate putting cans and bottles in with the general waste. We enjoyed three glorious weeks here, met interesting people from all over the globe and several who return to this lovely property every year. We hope to return also. We loved that we could hear birdsong and palm fronds swishing and staff singing while they worked. The most relaxing vacation we have ever had.

We've been going here for 10 years now. Love the staff, location, acccomodations, grounds, and the beach. These guys save your beachfront for guests only...great job Stanley, Oscar and Amos. Office gals are all wonderful at dealing with any reservation issues, ordering you a taxi, or making restaurant reservations. Wonderful place...hope to be back another 10 years! Good job Buccaneer!

What a fantastic hotel, I cannot rate this place highly enough. We had a really comfortable apartment overlooking the swimming pool. The beach was a 60 second walk away with its own loungers. The pool was never busy and was a great place to relax. The staff cannot do enough for you particularly Oscar, Stanley and Amos who were always on hand to help with whatever we needed. A magical and personal experience and we cannot wait to return.

I cannot rate this place enough, the rooms are clean and spacious with a kitchen which came handy for the days when we wanted to cook our own meals. We used the bbq at times and all the staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to make us feel as welcome as possible, especially the gardeners. All the staff made us feel at home. Location is fabulous as it is a few steps away from the beach, a restaurant is virtually next door. A few days we literally had the beach space to ourselves. And my son loved the pool. When I return will definitely return to buccaneers. Thank you for the hospitality!

Great place to stay. Clean, wonderful staff, great beach, great recommended driver (Levi), very attentive.Area has lots of nice restaurants, EZ mart a few resorts over is well stocked. Room is very clean, air conditioner worked well, full sized fridge, king sized bed. We were very happy there and noticed the staff was well-trained and very friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous 2 weeks.
