Jixiashan Meili Sunyata Hotel Reviews

I spontaneously decided to visit the Sacred Mountain again, and heard that Atour Hotel Meili was reopening after renovations, so I decided to stay there again. Unfortunately, compared to my stay in October 2023, the newly renovated Atour Hotel Meili is not as good as before. The overall color scheme is darker, and most of the furniture has been replaced with black. While it seems they wanted to incorporate more ******* elements, the contrast with the pristine white Sacred Mountain is a bit too stark. In 2023, perhaps due to a collaboration with Maison Margiela, the hotel was filled with the scent of a lazy weekend, creating an immediate sense of relaxation and a holiday vibe as soon as you walked in. This time, however, I didn't smell the familiar fragrance. Instead, especially on the second floor, there was a strong smell of cooking oil from the kitchen, which permeated the entire public area and was quite uncomfortable. In the Muyun room, after the renovation, there's a large amount of black furniture, including a large black wooden cabinet next to the bed. The overall color scheme is very dark, and I personally found it a bit depressing, making it hard to sleep soundly at night. The sofas in the viewing area on the fourth floor are no longer the soft, plush white ones you could sink into, but have been replaced with firmer single seats, significantly reducing comfort. Even the blankets feel thinner compared to 2023 😓. The staff service is still good, and the dinner at the restaurant is consistently excellent. However, I truly hope the hotel management can carefully consider the feedback and suggestions I've mentioned above. It feels like the entire hotel is showing signs of a downturn, perhaps due to the economic climate. Atour Hotel used to be my top choice in Meili, but with several new hotels opening next door, I hope Atour can maintain its standards to stand out. I really, really miss the old Atour Hotel.
