The Super 8 in Old Saybrook is located across the street from a large shopping center including a supermarket with a take out restaurant. Next door is an Italian restaurant; one of the best I've ever eaten in! The location is marvelous as the town center is only a few miles and the town's public beach, as well. The staff here at the Super 8 is always friendly, courteous, welcoming and warm. The housekeeping staff sees to the immaculate condition of every room. There is a pool which unfortunately was closed due to COVID 19 but the staff can't be held responsible for this. I have recommended the Old Saybrook Super 8 to friends and work colleagues as well many many times. I wouldn't recommend any place that I wouldn't be happy to stay myself. Thanks again to the Super 8 staff for a wonderful stay. We'll be seeing you again!

I booked this hotel sight unseen, never read a review as I usually do BUT it was a great experience overall. It’s close to 95 but I couldn’t hear the highway. The people were VERY nice, the grounds are clean and professionally landscaped. It was inexpensive and SUPER CLEAN! I travel fairly frequently and in the last 3 years, it’s the cleanest place I’ve stayed in. No fooling. The towels were wrapped in plastic, no dirt in the corners. The breakfast was even nicer than what you usually see in a lower priced hotel. Solomon and staff do it right. There’s also a good diner, right across the street.
