Hovima Altamira

Finding reception was a nightmare.We eventually 20 Mins before it closed. We stayed in a bungalow with it's own patio overlooking the pool area.It was lovely. The bungalow, self catering, had everything you needed. Their restaurant and bar were good value. Food at the restaurant was excellent.

We are a family of four and we stay here every year and love it. Every apartment is different as they’re privately owned. The location is perfect and balcony views are amazing! The pool area is really lovely too! There is a large car park and plenty of great restaurants around.

The staff were very friendly- the hotel is extremely clean - however there are little bits that need addressing- the curtains in the room do not reach the floor so room is light all night -coffee and tea is awful and the fresh orange juice is watered down - in general the food is good with good choice - there is a karoka pub right in front of hotel which is very loud - the entertainment guys work hard but couldn’t understand the one guy as he spoke so fast I wouldn’t go back to this hotel -

This is an amazing place, perfectly located next to the beach and to nearby restaurants. This is not an hotel rather a hotel lookalike with lots of self-accommodation apartments available to rent from owners with some to rent from the Altamira themselves. This is a place to be respectful of the residents who actual live there and because of this it is well maintained with the staff keeping the place wonderfully clean and well maintained. There are apartments on 6 floors surrounding an amazing pool area with a pool for families and a pool for adults (deeper pool) as well as a little toddler pool. Some of the apartments face out onto the road but it is quiet even with a couple of restaurants/bars as things quieten down at 11pm, regardless you can still see and hear the sound of the sea. We, as a family (mum, dad and 3 children – 8,13,15) have stayed here for quite a number of years after being recommended it by a friend who has property within the area, and we keep coming back! I think the main attraction for us is that it is such a calm and relaxing place, and it has the pools to cool off and the children to play (all they want is a swimming pool). When its time to eat and get a drink there are some lovely restaurants and chilled out areas right outside the complex and literally 3 minutes’ walk to the beach which is fantastic, we absolutely love spending time on the beach. There is a reception area, it used to be manned, stopped a few years ago but to be honest there is no need. You have a key that is used to access the main entrances and also the key to the gate to get to the beach. You have to be a user of the site to access the pool area. The apartments we have stopped in have been rented to us by a property agent who manages them for residents who have travelled back to the UK for visits, and we tend to go within the summer 6-week holidays, but we have also been at the October half term break. We have stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment 233 Altamira which is a lovely apartment facing the pool (and sea). Next to a corner apartment so it has a fantastic viewing area and such an amazing place to sit out at night. The bedrooms are ample enough for us, with the 3 girls staying in 1 of the rooms. All the amenities, including a washing machine, WIFI and TV (children cannot do without WIFI) and cooking facilities when needed them. There are fans in all the rooms, and you need them because it is hot at night and you will need to have the windows (with security grills) open to create some air flow. A lovely comfy place to stay. We have also used apartment 432 Altamira which is a one bed converted to a two bed, this fronts the roadside with a small balcony and suitable for a couple. It is furnished well with a modern feel, washing machine, TV, ceiling fans but no WIFI. Another apartment we used was 619 Altamira one bed (two single beds and a sofa bed in the lounge) and this had everything, furnished beautifully, washing machine, TV, WIFI and
