Hotel Issacs Cork City has a good center city location, close to the main sites tourists would like to see and not too far from the bus and train stations. When we were there recently, our room was very spacious, especially by European standards. There were 2 drawbacks to the property I feel visitors should be aware of, however. The first is the parking situation. The hotel has no parking of its own, but rather allows you to park in a church lot that is isn’t particularly close, for a fee. The issue is if you have even the slightest mobility issue, it will be rigorous to get your luggage to the hotel. It’s easily .3 -.4 of a mile away and you have to descend a steep incline and get the luggage down several steps to reach the hotel. Then you have to reverse the process when you leave the hotel. You are entirely on your own to handle this. There is no one on staff to assist you. When you want to enter the parking area to drop or retrieve your car or any forgotten belonging, the gate which guards the parking area is locked and you have to call the hotel to have the gate unlocked remotely. It’s a pain and especially so when the staff is unavailable to answer the phone quickly and open the gate. Right now the road in front of the property is all torn up for repairs, so possibly the situation will Improve when those are done, but that is the permanently designated parking area and there is no ‘set down’ space to leave luggage and go park. It’s enough to make us never under any circumstances return. Additionally, our 3rd floor room was not air conditioned and the sun came in at such an angle that it heated up the room until dark, which was late due to the long daylight hours. The day was only about 65 degrees F, but the room temp was 80+ and never cooled down enough to sleep well. If you visit in the summer, be aware that you will be cooked on the 3rd floor. There was only 1 available room we could have moved into and it was air conditioned, but only had a double bed, which wouldn’t work for us. All in all, we wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

I got a room with a window facing the in-door atrium, which meant not having a window with daylight. For the price I paid, I would expect to have a room with a window with daylight. Spa was not clean and I didn't enjoy it at all. Breakfast was not good either. I won't stay with Clayton again.

The Dean Cork was absolutely fabulous. It was within walking distance to everything in Cork... great shops, dining, and other points of interest within the city. The room was perfect... the bed was VERY comfortable.... and the hotel was a quick walk from the train station. Check-in/Check-out was a breeze, and the staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is luxurious, has great dining on-site, and every amenity imaginable for a relaxing and pampered stay in Cork. If I have the opportunity to be in Cork again... I will definitely stay at 'The Dean'.

Just had my sons wedding at the Address in Cork city. Thank you to the most amazing friendly staff for providing us with a wonderful day. The service, the rooms, and the wedding venue was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely not just because of the people but also because of the rich historical vibe and character of the hotel itself. The rooms were spacious, warm and clean. The whole day went like clockwork and everyone who attended the day felt like a wonderful memory was made. I would not hesitate in recommending this hidden jewel of a hotel to anyone wanting to have a special stylish day.

The Montenotee hotel is an experience of its own , fantastic views over the city , amazing interior design, delicious food and professional staff .. The glasshouse is superb with quality cocktails and surroundings. Highly recommend.

I am in love with their bed!! It’s the best I’ve ever slept on. So in love, I had to investigate to find out who makes their bed: it’s by the natural sleep company. I slept deliciously and I will now get a bed like that for my home. The employees were quite kind and helpful too. Clearly, from the bed alone, they invest in quality. It’s a gorgeous building and exquisitely maintained with a magnificent old world charm. I hope this gem lasts for ages and doesn’t succumb to the boring, overly modern, cookie cutter trope a lot of hotels have fallen into. I will return for sure.

We enjoyed a relaxing one night stay before flying out to Spain for 8 days. Car parked and got shuttle bus to airport early following morning. I have to compliment those early morning staff for their professionalism and assistance. All staff very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed nice meal in restaurant which added to our relaxation and a great start to Spanish holiday.

I was travelling with a 13 year old so I booked a double and single room, I had plans for the afternoon so didn't check in until after 6.00pm. There was a wedding on that day at the hotel and when I got to the room there was only a double bed so I went back to reception to say it was the wrong room. A manager came over and started to say that 'they saw I was travelling with a child, so as a ''Treat'' they upgraded me to a room with a double bed'. I did explain that I already had booked a double bed and a single one and that 13 years old's generally don't think it is a treat to share a bed with an adult. I was then told all they could do was bring in a put-up bed or refund me, as I had to be in Cork for an appointment in the morning I had to stay, but was very disappointed that instead of being honest with me they tried to pass this mistake off as somehow for my benefit. They did call my room later and apologised and told me management was aware although I have never heard from anyone at the hotel about this, they did offer us dinner but I already had plans and then they offered us breakfast which we did accept. It felt very much that the wedding party had been prioritised over other guests and I imagine they needed my room for some of those guests and thought they could just move me, but if you paid for a specific room you should never be changed unless it is an upgrade, certainly not downgraded. The view from the room was basically looking over a roof into another room or corridor, so didn't get to enjoy the many acres that the hotel is set in, and whilst the main bed was comfortable, the put-up bed dipped in the middle and was very uncomfortable and took up a lot of the room space so overall it was not a comfortable or relaxing experience

This could be a great hotel stay but not in summer. The rooms are cooled by 2 tiny windows and small desk fan. The bathrooms don’t even have fans to vent the rooms. On a 75 degree F day in Blarney and windows facing the sun all day long, the room must have been 90 degrees when we checked in. Now at 8:30 PM it is still unbearably hot. We have the door propped open with a pillow and the chain to keep out uninvited guests. We are hoping for some cross ventilation from the hot hallway but this is unlikely because the windows at the stairwell don’t seem to open at all. Staff’s reaction to my question about lack of any AC was “it is a 100 year old hotel”. Well, the mill store connecting to it has AC as does the pub and restaurant they are in former mills also 100 years old. The hotel has location, convenience, cleanliness, etc. going for it — but we are literally roasting in our rooms.
