Potamaki Beach Hotel

Good location across from the beach, good pool and deck chairs. Breakfast was just ok, not ma y options for vegetarians or vegans, hitel.was generally quite dated, rooms need an overhaul and reno. Friendly staff, good nightly entertainment

great hotel. rooms are cleaned everyday. nice view. lovely staff. there is also a little place where you can book trips. fun greek night which is very entertaining. lovely staff at bar. great food. different food each night for dinner. bit of a long queue in summer for dinner at certain times. rooms in general really good. mini fridge, desk and tv. pool is perfect and there’s also a ping pong table when you walk down to the pool. had a great holiday overall great hotel but not much to do in that location other than stay in the hotel/pool. would definitely recommend though.

We recently stayed at the Potamaki Beach Hotel for 12 days (from August 14th to August 25th, 2023). Unfortunately, there is not a single positive aspect of this hotel that I can genuinely recommend. Cons: 1. One night when we were asleep some random guy entered our room! He had a card of our room and entered it! When we informed receptionist what have happened, she already knew it and just said that it wont happen again. She didn't want to provide us any explanation!!! This was the most disturbing experience! 2. The room they accommodated us in was on the first floor, on the same level as swimming pool. Sun beds were literally few meters from our balcony and since they don't have normal curtains but only drapers, the only way you could have some privacy in that room was if you were in dark whole day. Beside that, smell in bathroom was awful! 3. We asked at the reception to change room, firstly they argued and after some persuasion they showed us another room on the same floor. Second room was noticeably smaller, much older furniture, old bathroom and view was other building passage. We agreed to that since they told us this is the only option and it seemed that we could have some privacy here and there was no smell from bathroom. 4. After first attempt to take a shower in the bathroom of second room, the floor was completely flooded, partly because the curtain on shower was too short and partly because water was coming back from the drain. It disgusted me to step out of the shower. To be able to reach towels you needed to go over toilet seat, and there was no space at all to put cosmetics (we had to use some dusty red chair for that). Also, in this bathroom tiles were dingy. So overall, the bathroom was in unsanitary conditions. 5. Again, we went to reception to explain the conditions, and this time they were rude and completely unprofessional (they mocked us because we already changed room) and finally one lady (I would say she is the manager) agreed to come to the room with us to see what is happening. So we showed here, and her behavior was really unprofessional. She tried to convince us that what we showed her is completely normal and that room is "really nice room" and that other rooms have shower behind the doors without curtains etc.. So basically she was telling us that all other rooms are worse then this one?!! We insisted that they find us normal room, and finally I had to specifically tell her to check when first group of guests is leaving and that could be a opportunity for us to change it. Finally, she agreed to that, but I really want to emphasise that she was completely unprofessional! 6. After two days they showed us another room which was finally looking acceptable (we had issues in this process as well, but we got the room). No apologies from their side for all the trouble we were in. 7. The hotel provided only one room card despite our request for two. Their explanation that we could leave the card at the recepti

yed here for 7 days and that was enough. This hotel has the potential to be amazing and I bet back in the day it was, however it is now really dated. On arrival, reception is nice clean and welcoming.walking through the corridors of the hotel is really eery, dark and seem to go on forever. We stayed on the 3rd floor with a side view of the sea, which was beautiful. The room is clean but dated, the shower, toilet and hair dryer were older than gods dog and so was the decor. There is no kettle but there is a fridge. Maids come everyday to change towels and bed sheets but never wipe over anything, they are however kind enough to be consistent with the loud chatting and squawking at stupid o clock in the morning. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the adjoining rooms. We stayed half board, the food was awful! Pretty much ate chips and salad the whole trip. Its also a game of guess the meat because nothing is labelled. They generously provide one pudding per evening! We ate out most of the time. Breakfast was awful, no fresh fruit just same thing everyday and had to que up for a drink which was a thimble sized glass of juice. The hotel staff work their socks off and seem to get no respect from the manager, who I'm convinced Is the reincarnation of basil fawlty. (Pictured)He is rude, abrupt and utterly miserable. The hotel has entertainment on 3 times a week, the area will fill fast so he asked if we would like to book a table, at the cost of 5euro EACH! Even though we were guests at the hotel! He also raised his voice a few times at guests and staff. There is a main road between hotel and beach whixh can be super busy at times. The beach is perfect, the best part of the holiday for us. 10 euro for two beds and a free drink, served by a guy who works for the hotel who was so sweet and worked his **** off. There are some beautiful restaurants further up and a few gorgeous boutiques. Its worth exploring the little rds too, we found the tastiest gyros for 3 euro and pretty much lived off them, the locals were always buying them too. Shame the hotel was this way, it would be better advertised as self catering accommodation or downgrade to a 2 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel, we didn't stay there but we're able to enjoy there pool facilities every day. We got lunch and drinks while there which were lovely and we enjoyed the entertainment on a few nights as well.

What really surprised me and disappointed me was the bathroom - especially the bath cabin - It was so narrow. You could see how unprofessional the isolation silicon had been laid and still the bathroom is big enough to organize it better with newer furniture. It's just old and needs renovation. Breakfast was same every morning, at dinner there was only one kind of fruit (every evening same fruit) and no (other) dessert. Salt&pepper + sugar containers were not cleaned since few weeks and were sticky. In our room there was not wi-fi, but on balcony yes. There was really old spiderweb - it was huge and complicated this is why I think it's old. There beach could be cleaner - there were straws, cigars, bottle caps, but this depends and on guests not only the staff. The staff was nice and working hard, may be they need more people. They cleaned and changed sheets and towels on time and they were bright white. Dinners were good, more diverse. The food (morning and evening) was tasty. The location is great because with the public transport you can reach the main city and other beautiful places and beaches - Kerkyra, Messonghi, Agios Georgios and Issos beach.

Currently at the hotel . Great place , where all the staff do their upmost to help and please you to ensure you have a wonderful time from the chamber maids to the restaurant staff with a special mention and thanks to the bar staff, Fotini, Cally and Dimitri.
