Salamandra Plaza

We returned to Competa (for the purposes of a repeat visit to Bodega Bentomiz: a superb wine tour/tasting/lunch experience by the way!) and, on this occasion, stayed, for the first time, at Salamandra Plaza. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with the benefit of a delightful roof-top terrace and is ideally situated over-looking the central plaza and its restaurants and bars. The communication from the Salamandra team was timely, efficient and thorough both in advance of and during our stay. This really is an ideal residence for any Competa stay which we would highly recommend. Best to book directly with the owner for the very best of prices on what is an incredible value-for-money stay. Great location easy check in. Rooms anre a little dated but Every thing you need is there Only thing that we noticed was the overpowering air freshener which was in communal area as well as in the room but noticed the walk in wardrobe had damp on the ceiling so I’m guessing it was to maybe mask the smell

Competa Had a great 4 nights stay coffee machine in room but would of Preferred a kettle apart from that was verry happy 😊 👍will book again

Very good location and view. Noisy with the square but we expected that and noise stopped by midnight. Size of room El sol is 10sqm, feels very small. Nice roof terrace. Worst part is the water, all reviews are accurate, you literally get a dribble… took me forever to wash my hair. Really?? Also B&B description is slightly deceptive as there is no Breakfast on offer.

Our second stay at Salamandra Plaza. This time we stayed in El Cielo on the top floor. Lovely apartment with a small kitchen area with it's own terrace. Also have access directly to the main roof top terrace which is shared with the rest of the apartments. Breakfast can be taken at any of the 3 restaurants in the square or another close by.

Worst ever , stayed for 3 nights , no sleep from noise in the square , flighting , music till 5 in morn . No hot water , oh and the drain smell spoke to cleaner and nothing done !! Please don’t book, am sure better places, stays they offer bfast No they don’t !!!

Unfortunately although in the centre of Cómpeta with convenient bars and restaurants, the hotel was very basic and lacking amenities. The room had no heating which in February would have been welcomed. Shower was little more than a trickle. No breakfast as stated. Overall would not recommend.
