Prior to booking here I had considered booking at a lodge out of 'town' but I'm super glad I chose Casa Marbella - the boat dropped us straight to their dock, they were smack in the middle of the village (which is only one street about a mile long) so super easy for looking around and getting tea / drinks etc, and directly opposite a track to the beach. Also really close to the boat stop for going on the canal cruises and leaving Tortuguero. It was lovely having a dining setting next to the canal where breakfast (included in your stay) was served each morning. The rooms were comfy, clean, and the shower good. As others have mentioned there was a little noise from the street at night. Two nights is perfect in Tortuguero, you only need a Sinac pass for one day as you can do a canal tour in the morning, come back for breakfast, then do the jaguar trail with a guide in the afternoon. Casa Marbella organized this for us for $35 us pp
