The location right on the Rhine promenade was great, everything was within easy walking distance, but:
- Prior telephone agreement regarding a third bed was very difficult, since German was not his mother tongue, but it worked
- we got a room directly in one of the roof gables, although the hotel was not fully occupied and it was 30 degrees! It was incredibly hot as there was no air conditioning just a small fan and the open window hardly got any fresh air as the smells from the kitchen and the smoking restaurant patrons went straight up into the room so no sleep possible before 1am
- Also, there was no fly screen in front of the window, so all sorts of animals like bugs, spiders, mosquitoes, etc. in the room
- Correspondingly dirty the room with spiders and cobwebs, but also the carpet was disgusting
- the mattresses were awful, higher in the middle than on the sides, you could only lie in the middle or you would roll out
- in the bathroom the joints of the entire wall had black mold, the shower head didn't fit into the holder and had to be held by hand
Only the wall with the TV and the TV itself have been renewed, but otherwise not recommended.

Booked wrong month by accident and they refused to be gracious and refund my booking. In a cost of living crisis this is poor form and low in morals!!!! I can’t believe somewhere already fully booked out can be so scum and greedy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based in the heart of cologne city and in view of the beautiful Rhine river. The Kunibert offers not only a great selection of drinks and food but also a friendly atmosphere. The hotel is extremely helpful and well positioned and everything you need for a comfortable night's stay. Will definitely use again

We stayed here when visiting the Christmas Market in Cologne. If your looking for fancy then this isn't for you, but it is a nice hotel and very close to the markets, the train station, and for walks along the Rhine. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel but if you want to eat here you can and the food and drinks are good i had no complaints. would i stay again, probably yes due to the price and location, it was clean staff were nice food was good. just remember if you want fancy or 4 or 5 stars this isn't for you, if you want location and decent price and not really bothered about where you stay then this is a great place to stay!

Great location by the river, the room was clean, loads of bars and restaurants near by and only a 12 minute walk to the chocolate museum. Staff were lovely, funny and friendly. Ardeshir was particularly lovely and had great vibes.
