The hotel is right next to the Cologne Cathedral, and there is a great restaurant downstairs, next to the train station, the traffic is very convenient. The room you stayed in was very spacious and you could spread out your suitcase at will. Drinks in the minibar are free and good value for money. The reception staff were friendly and happy to answer questions. The bellmen are also friendly. Parents stayed very satisfied.

There was no air conditioning (AC) even though the hotel advertised as having it. Their excuses was that it was too cool at night to operate the AC for the hotel even though it was actually very warm outside. Translation: the entire hotel is either on heat or AC, they are too frugal to allow use of the advertised AC, or their system is outdated and does not actually work properly. Very hot and stuff room. The odd thing was is that the hotel lobby seemed to have AC. The hallways and room were uncomfortably hot. Upon checking in there was only a little bit of toilet paper was left on the roll. Fortunately there was an extra roll provided. Only a few sheets of Kleenex were in the box. Also, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty. It seems not much care is given to the rooms between guests. On our last day the housekeeper knocks on the door early in the morning even tough the “do not disturb” sign was hung on the door. It was a basic room with furnishings that included a desk, a small round table, 2 small nightstands, a desk chair, and one sitting chair. There was no usable refrigerator, just a mini bar. The was only one suitcase rack situated in the closet. We had to use the sitting chair for our other suitcase. The beds were not too comfortable. Also the pillow case did not completely cover the pillow, so your head might rest upon the exposed portion of the pillow where the lasts hundreds of guest placed their heads. Bathroom was OK but a bit smelly. The shower had low water pressure. Some water will leak out under the shower door to the floor. Stepping over the high tub with a slippery shower floor is a bit precarious. Internet speed was 3.81 Mbps in both upload and download, with 8 ms latency. The location is near the chocolate museum and a good pizza and pasta restaurant is nearby. The cathedral is less than a mile away. At almost 400 euros a night, it was very expensive for a poor experience. Perhaps HN stands for “Not Happy.”

Things went okay at check-in, I don't speak the original language myself and wanted to speak English, which was not appreciated by the look on the face. We also received an incorrect route description to the room, we had to walk all the way to the back of the hotel to take the elevator, but it was next to the reception. Furthermore, the hotel was very outdated and the roof was leaking because it was raining and I got drops on my head. The hotel room was outdated, except for the shower, which was very luxurious. The room had good hygiene and was clean. The location was very excellent!

Sadly this is NOT a 5 star hotel and I don’t even know how they got that rating. They may have been at one point but unfortunately my experience there was not of a 5 star hotel. The staff was very friendly however the hotel itself was very underwhelming. Upon arrival there was a paper stuck on the elevator saying there will be no water after midnight for the next 3 days . We then got a room on the 6th floor which had a nice view of the street, however at 8am in the morning we were woken up by drilling sounds from a floor above us and when we complained to the staff they said there was nothing they could do about it, we then finally got moved to the second floor, but the furniture in that room was so old rusty and outdated in my opinion. My boyfriend wanted to go take a nice swim in the pool that is advertised on their website only to realize that using it is an extra charge as the pool does not belong to the hotel. The pillows we had were also very bad, usually you get a set of about 2-3 pillows in 5 star hotels but we only got 1 flat pillow each which was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Sadly the only good thing about this hotel is that it’s very close to everything, about 5 minutes to the main station and the supermarket is right across the street as are most restaurants. The Rhein river is also quite close. I believe the hotel has a lot of improvement to do but it seems they are not even considering improvement any time soon. After the not so great experience we had we thought maybe they might offer some sort of compensation but nothing was offered. Once again this is really not a 5 star hotel so don’t be fooled.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. This hotel is in a prime position for access to the city centre, Rhine River and major tourist attractions. It is a quaint hotel offering decent size rooms and a beautiful and changing buffet breakfast. The staff really make this hotel worth visiting, from the Reception staff to the incredibly friendly Breakfast staff. I would like to give a special mention to Corina for her attentiveness and friendliness. She makes you feel very welcomed. My only complaint would be that the cleaning staff were hit and miss and its something that the hotel should be monitoring. The last 2 days of our stay, the cleaner was very slack. I informed reception and this was fixed immediately but I shouldn't have had to say anything. I have cancer and staff were informed that my medication needed refrigeration and they provided me with an extra keycard to ensure the fridge stayed on whilst we were out but this particular cleaner kept removing it from the port. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel but cleanliness should never be compromised.

The hotel emailed us at short notice to change where we were staying but then decided not to reply to any of our emails back to them. Because of this we arrived at the rearranged hotel completely confused about how long we were supposed to be staying there for. The hotel was particularly unwelcoming and it took them a while to work out that we were in fact staying there. The room was in a poor condition, with stains all over the curtains, the pillows were uncomfortable and lumpy and no extra pillows were provided (until we asked reception to provide more). There were two very small single duvets provided for the bed and the hotel was unable to provide a double duvet when asked. The hairdryer did not work and the hotel did not replace this despite us asking. The shower also did not drain so it filled up when it was used. Further to this considering it is December we needed the radiators on, however the radiators were extremely noisy and kept us awake all night. This hotel was further away from the landmarks that we had planned our trip around which incurred extra costs. The hotel has neglected to reply to any of our emails (before or after our trip), I would not book with them again.

We were at five in the apartment AM1, which is really top. I would like to begin with the positive, namely that the apartment is ideally located directly in the old town of Heu market with a metro station in front of the door, and is also sufficiently spacious for five people. Now to criticism: the staff appeared not to have finished with the cleaning, the key was given to us by a cleaning force and we entered a apartment with a still running washing machine and a sticky floor in the upper floor. In the course of the evening it was cold in the apartment, we had to find that the heating was defect and even warm water was not available. Telephone had several times nobody to reach until I went to the hotel just ten. There was closed at both doors, there was no doorbell, I knocked on the windows. Contact with the staff is no longer possible after nine! The next morning at eight, I returned to the hotel, where the young receptionist apologised hundred times. She had already read our email with the problem description - but there was no reaction. She promised that in an hour someone would come for heating. After two hours we called to ask ourselves, as no one had yet appeared. She said that no one could come, it was a ”problem of the city” we can do the hotel - but only at 12:00! After I pressed, she promised to call the boss. Suddenly they could send a craftsman, so the first statement was apparently lied. They didn't want to take care of it, but at once it went, and in 30 minutes the craftsman was there. Unfortunately, too late for us, we had to leave a short time. After all, the guests will be able to shower after us. The ”chef” was only on the afternoon, so I came back to present my complaint to him. He kept the finger of the mouth and made ”pszt”, what I felt very respectless. In general, he seemed little interested in what I had to press, shed next to his calendar and talked to other guests. I was angry, so I had never been treated in a ”hotel”! We asked us for a part of our money. The receptionist was ready to give us 10% of the price of ”thirty euros”. I advocated that we had paid 400 euros (a ridiculous price) for the night, 10 percent are 40 euros. He agreed, but made the condition that we should give him in writing and confirm with our ID number that we are not writing bad reviews. This person was unhellable, disinterested and respectless. We didn't enter the deal. I am very disappointed and angry. In the sense of the guests I hope that something changes in the future with regard to service. By the location the hotel would have been

My wife and I stayed in this aparthotel at the end of July 2023. It was well situated within the city and was less than 15 minutes walk into the city centre and the Cathedral. The staff were friendly and had left a drink in my room as it was my birthday, but for some reason the staff member thought I was 6 years old! Odd seeing as I booked with a credit card. I had written to the hotel prior to let them know it was my birthday as well. The apartment was definitely big enough for both of us, with a small hob, microwave and fridge, though we didn’t cook anything, it was nice to have the extra room to relax. There is underground parking at the apartments, which is €20 a day. For the convenience it was worth paying even if it is a little expensive. It rained most of the time we were there, but there is still plenty to do. The Cathedral is free, which is always good and the Hohenzollern Brücke which is full of locks is great to walk over the Rhein. Cologne is a lovely city for a couple of days
